Thanks, and I would suggest doing a wet system, not that much more to do and a lot safer.

I'm a big believer in dry technology.Dry has come a long way in the last 3 years. Some of the fastest LS1/LSX guys have been going this route.I've done a lot of searching and have not found another 928 that has pushed the envelope when it comes to dry so i guess i'll be the first!I will be running a full drag race season next year so we'll see how she holds up!

So Dave, any updates, races, pulls with anyother 928's. In other words Nitrous VS other boosted models. Have you dyno'd the car with a 150 shot. How is living w/ your nitrous setup?
I am getting close but you are the one w/ the newest system installed. How is it running day to day experience.
A lot of people are dead set against nitrous and thats OK I was just wondering what your real world experience is w/ your setup!

I think he's posted pretty recently.
i talked to him yesterday on the phone. He told me that his gauge on the bottle fell apart, so he needs to get a new one, but other than that, the car runs strong.

Nephews Mustang has a 120hp shot on his 302.
Tested the car late 2010
Car in the 1/8th mile without nitrous ET of 8.64
Cari n the 1/8th mile with nitrous ET of 7.86
On average .7 to .8 gain in the 1/8th mile
A good 150 shot should be good for a least a full second in the 1/4th mile.

That depends on the controller price really...my controller costs around $1100 on its own, but it does a lot of stuff that no other in the world will... >>> http://www.noswizard.com/product_desc.php?id=190
Although you can get much simpler ones that are cheaper but dont skimp on price too much as its what will keep your engine in one piece....
All the best Brett

Ok I typed this up while off line, it grew way long.. but I attempted to catch everyone up. Sorry
Hi all and thanks for asking, I do get on here during the day sometimes when I work from home, post if I think I can add something to a thread else briefly at night attempting to keep up with the latest.
Lately my nights and weekends have been busy putting Cambonic’s ’87 Murph Stage III engine back together, mostly a top end refresh. It hopefully will go back in the car this weekend.
On the Nitrous front, there’s nothing new to report. I have yet to add my Knock Light, I have all the parts except for the knock sensor mounting plug in the V, need to get one off a scrap ’87 or newer block (I have some feelers out
I am now running the non-projected NKG’s “BR7ES” (one range cooler than stock) the plugs look good and I can now start to see the Timing Stripe on the ground strap (many spark plug changes).
AFR is also nominal w/o Nitrous 14.7 at cruse and idle (cold idle 13.2) and around 12.6 at WOT w/ Nitrous also good, but could be a tad leaner (the Nitrogen cools the air charge).
I know I can tune it up some, but need that knock sensor hooked up to push it the timing. The car has never run better and is extremely quick with the new sticky BFG G-Force 275’s she hooks up now, the old 255’s just spun.
I have asked PorKen to burn me a set of his chips when he gets time (I’m in no hurry) and have the ’87 Fuel regulator ready to go, I just need to be able to pull 8 deg of timing out when the Nitrous system is active. That should be 2 more than I need but that is another post.
As for the Nitrous, SC, Turbo debate, they all add more Oxygen so they can spray more fuel to make more power.
The big difference is my Oxygen tank runs out after one full minute of WOT (lasts is longer than you would think) the other two systems pull air from the great outdoors, so for a track car or someone who doesn’t have a local speed shop to fill your tanks in town I would go the mechanical way of adding the oxygen.
However the other two systems are always on, and there is a price you pay for that in added maintenance. Nitrous system is only on when you want it to be and it will put a BIG smile on your face when you hit WOT. AO has driven her and also had a chance to compare notes so to speak
For me 150 HP on top of the 300ish makes it a “hold on” fun ride (a true sleeper as 928’s are not known to be really quick).
But Like any > 75 HP increasing device you just can’t put together some parts and put them on, it has to be tuned for your eng which means you need to have the timing and mixture monitoring in place, there is no one size fits all. I have about $1,400 and many hours and still counting, LOL but I like to do it.
This is why the SC and Turbo kit guys have made “kits”, they have worked out the bugs to be as safe as possible to bolt on.
For anyone who has not run a properly set up Nitrous system, I say don’t be a hate’n unless you have done it and can back up your hearsay and conjecture.

PS: to the Detroit crew, I’ll see you all this Thursday night at four Green Fields!!!
