I got a ride in this yesterday and it really scoots! Very gentle coming on and then it just pulls! Now we jsut need to get the driver to apply himself liberally to the accelerator!
BTW, He has my G-tech.
Actually, with the placement of the nozzle in MAF, there is very little chance of one runner geting more/less mixture than any of the other runner as long as the intake system was designed properly from Porsche.
I was talking to a guy who rigged up 8 WBO2 seonsors to an S4 to measure its intake performance and he found that all 8 runners provided even air flow to result in AFR's all with in 1 of each other (that is to say the high migh have been 14.2 and the low was 15.2). So S4 intake appears to be of adequate design for this type of application.
He said that some of the newer C6 vettes (or was it Mustangs... doesn't really matter) have a much wider spread (as much as 3 or 4 points). Of course, we don't know how the 85/86 intake performs in this manner, and we may never know. The point is that it appears Porsche spent a lot of time ensuring even flow through the intake system.
However, just to be sure, placing the nozzle in front of the throttle plate helps to assure that by the time the spray gets to the main "T" that there will be a reasonably even distribution to one side or the other. We originally talked about putting the nozzle in the "T" , but could not be sure that the mixture would be even, so it was pulled back to the MAF.
And as long as there is no detonation, any mildly un-even distribution of the NOS should not impact the HG.
But you're right in that the if you want to be sure about 100% even distribution then you should use port injection of the NOS with 8 nozzles - but that gets crazy expensive and now you're almost in SCer $$$$ territory.

Well it took me a bit to get this together, I am not satisfied with the results of this vid but wanted to share what I have w/you all. Really want one when she is hooking up, she can and does, ask those who have seen it and the results always put a big grin on my face ![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Anyway I took my pal Andrew for spin and nailed it for him, the eng oil was hot as I had her out earlier and then running in my driveway while I warmed up the juice, but the w/cold tires on a cool day .. .well see for yourself.
Enjoy..!

Thanks for comments!
She does sound and feel real strong, (I was peddling second gear looking for a bite) can't wait until this spring and get a vid taken from outside, I have been told it really sounds great.
Imre: yes, she lays down two real nice black stripes![burnout](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/burnout.gif)
I'll post a pic today of my current program settings 30% to 100% (2600 to 4200) then from 4200 to 6200 100% (a 150 hp shot), rev limiter comes on at 64000 (earlier if she is in the passenger seat)

You know I have been thinking of adding this style set up with Methanol Injection on my 86 S/C car. I had a Grand National and was running 24 Lbs of boost with no knock and not running lean.
Any comments?

In regards to methanol injection, you may be able to get away with a smaller intercooler with a water spray onto the intercooler itself. It will allow you to reach over 100% cooling efficiency, so you should be able to use a smaller package to get the right result. Corky Bell recommends against any sort of band-aid measure that isn't an intercooler, as the systems can fail and then you are screwed. That's his opinion, I don't really have one of my own, but he seems to have his **** together. Can you not use an AWIC?

Here is the programming I have currently uploaded in to the system.
I have adjusted the numbers in the program to reflect what the TAC shows, (example: the Nitrous system comes on at 3000 and the TAC reads 3250).
I see that I am stopping the nitrous ~ at 6000 not 6200 as I stated earlier.
Sorry I can not comment on the Methanol Injection, however I am going to do PorKens Chips w/ the ‘87 FPR, just working out the fine tuning requirements.
With the current setup I can regulate Fuel and Nitrous as I have the solenoids connected to the separate two stages (both programmed the same now).

I have been modifiying Thunderbird SC for the last 3 years before I bought my 928. The methonal/water...snows kit was used on all of the high HP SC"S. It allowed for much better timing, which gave more power. All of these setups were used in conjuction with a IC. Some used Nitrous but a very low shot 50hp.
