I own what I like to think is a nice reliable 89 S4...I have also owned a 82 OB and my son who still lives with me has an 80 OB. I don't understand the lack of love the OB's get from the S4, GT, or GTS owners . They are GREAT cars. Yes...not as quick as an S4 but still a joy to have and work on. Tight as a drum...built like a tank...handles like a dream. I will add another in my future when I can. In some ways I like them better than the newer models. Sometimes its not always about 0-60 times.

Can't argue, Jim. From my first 356, I've never had a Porsche that wasn't comfortable on thousand miles days. One of their brilliant qualities. My 83S is quieter, calmer and has better climate control than all of them so ... better rested. I'm an old man, I need a GT.

I got a US spec 84 928S last year in good shape. love it.

last winter I did some refresh work and Roger is piling up some parts for me to do some more refresh work this winter. so far the car has only needed the 'normal' stuff.

as I researched 928s and thought long and hard why I wanted one and how I intended to use it, settled on looking for an 83-84 auto. I wanted a 928 to drive a LOT and that I could do most of my own work. I would LOVED to have gotten a nice S4/GT, but budget, added complexity/cost, and intention to drive as semi DD steered me back to the 83-84.

my 85 911 is my track/excitement car. love them both for their respective purposes.
