Default MSDS Header Tube Diameter

Does anyone happen to know what the tube diameter is of the MSFS 16v headers? (raw tube diameter and tube diameter at the end plate).

They use a 1 5/8" inch pipe. I believe they have a 3" Collector.

That does appear to be correct. I just put some on the Stepson. I haven't figured out what I'm gonna connect them to. I want dual exhaust all the way back, but the Stepson came with only a single pipe from the cat back. Sorry to hijack, but anybody have any ideas?

I just had to start it with just the headers. It sounded SO good!!

Jleidel, your engine is calling you.

red, i've seen a few folks actually get true duals built from the headers back. I remember a thread somewhere with pictures. I can't wait to get cracking on that motor project. I dont have any travel scheduled anytime soon, so holler when you need help with your cam towers/etc

I'd use the 928 Motorsports Header X-pipe. I guess it will fit an '84.

How bout this weekend? Sat/Sun I don't care. Whatever works best for you and whomever else wants to come over. Prolly cook steaks to go with the wine I absconded from you at the OCIC. We can bring the engine up to the house from the storage even. Everybody goes home happy. We could even make it a full blown tech session and do some really meaningful stuff if we want to.

One thing about the MSDS headers is that to access your lower bell housing or anything in it, you have to loosen one of the headers at the head to swing it out of the way. Kind of a bummer, but for an automatic, not that big of a deal

David,
The MSDS headers come out straight and therefore the MS X doesn't appear that it would fit. Great idea though. I might have to fabricate something along those lines.

Whats really weird is that the Schwartz build is only a couple hundred away from the Stepson, but it has dual pipes all the way back. Gonna have to look closer to see if they are aftermarket.

Cool. I'll let you know as soon as I talk to my Social Director. I am pretty sure either day works for me as well.
Anybody else who wants in on the fun have a preference?

SO, John,
Do we wanna make this tech session Saturday or Sunday knowing that you already have marching orders for Saturday evening?
Anybody else that wants to show is certainly welcome, just need a head count for beers/wine and grub.
