Thanks for the ideas and pics! I had kinda planned to build an X where you have straights in pic 1.
I really really want dual pipes all the way back, but I'm not sure if there is room with the existing heat shield. Gotta get under there and do some measuring tomorrow.

After the Y or X its just moving air in a pipe, so much cross sectional area gives so much pressure drop per foot, one pipe or two makes little difference (slight edge to single pipe for boundary effects, big edge to single pipe for less weight).

Your welcome - I know dual exhaust can be done - Ive seen it - I actually have pics of it on my home PC on a 928 track car.
Tonight Ill try and find/post them for you.

If it is a track car you may want to consider a H pipe as they tend to be better at higher revs than the X, the X is better around town though.
