Default Genuine Autothority chips from an 87 928 S4 -- What are they worth?

I've got a set of Genuine Authority Porsche 928 S4 chips (In the box)......What do you guys think they are worth -- if I want to sell them? Believe they were $650 new. Would entertain some interesting trades.

Typical used market of 1/2 original value would apply, however I believe the price is further pushed down by the (at least impression) of cheap eBay copies.

Thankfully someone around here just had trouble with the clones, so maybe genuine AA will have extra pull for a while

yep, the eBay clones are dirt cheap, but come with the double-bonus of both questionable functionality and morality

I do that their existence does have a negative impact on the value of the genuine AA chips.

Maybe so, BUT if AA wasn't so greedy and ask an arm & a leg + your first born for a set, this woud not happen.

And, at least in the case of '85-'86 chips, did such a hack job on them, and never revised them.

I have a set of the clones in my car with no issues with reliability.

Maybe next year I will be "Powered by Porken"!!

AA is just a name, the ebay clones are the same chips, and Porkens are better chips, and anybody with a sharktuner do their own.

OTOH this is Porsche 928 stuff, so maybe $225 to someone who doesn't know any better on ebay?

BTW view I have always heard was that the 87+ AA chips did little, but sometimes failed smog.

I think I will save them for a rainy day. Maybe there will be another S4 in my future. If I could get a few hundred it would be worth it, but for that little, I might as well keep them. They have been sitting on a shelf for 15 years. Wonder if they get better with age?! :-)

Actually most eproms slowly erase over time depending on the ambient UV level etc.

I paid $100 for AA chips for my '87 S4 2 years ago.

You will surprise me to get $200, even on eBay.

I'd take the $60 offer and let 'em slide.

BTW, I thought they did make a good performance improvement.

I have a set of genuine AA chips for a '91 S-4. I'd take $125.00 for them plus shipping
