Default shock question

My left shock began to leak oil about a week ago. Any comments about replacement shocks? 1985 928. Mark

I have the factory Boge's on the front and they ride fine, Koni Reds on the rear, likewise. I'm a fan of Koni and have the Koni yellows on my daily driver. Love the adjustability. I had a set of Tokico Illuminas on my Rx7 and I was very happy with them. I had Tokico HPs on another car, and they were adequate, but nothing to write home about. Monroe is overpriced and underperformed. I've had KYBs and don't think too much of them, but I've never tried their top of the line AGX adjustables. Bilsteins are supposed to be excellent, but I'd still take Koni's over them just because of my good experiences.

Roger is the man behind 928sRus by the way. Excellent to deal with, he's helped me out a lot on mine.

I got the Boge shock from Roger as well. the are great shocks for the money. I have Bilsteins Sports on the BMW. I would probably go the Bilstein route if my budget would have allowed as they are a litter stiffer. I probably depends on what you want out of your car and what you are willing to spend. Bilstein, Boge, Koni... would all make good choices. there are a lot of threads about suspension/shocks if you look around a little.

I have both Bilstiens and the new Boges on, I prefer the Bilstiens, they are quite a bit more firm

The main advantage of Bilsteins for me is they are rebuildable - my rears cost me 1/4 the cost of new units a year or two back. The Boges are very good value though.

Konis are also rebuildable - that's one reason I went with them on my daily driver. That and because they were an insert, it only cost $20 more than the Tokicos.
