Nicole is spot on, think $10k for a decent repair.

Or, pay his asking price, plus $3k and tell him you'll pick it up in perfect repaired condition in 2 months. Let's see if he falls for that.

I think the low bids are baloney, but until its taken apart a bit the extent of the damage can't be seen. Just painting the front could be anyplace from $200 to $10,000 depending on the quality and prep work.

No way.....for a good body shop charging insurance company rates that could be $10k USD with ease....even using used parts and doing most of the labor yourself....$3k minimum
