Yeah it looks like a nice but I would check it out good before hand. The price is right if not major issues.

Whenever they had the car painted, it looks like they painted over everything, the lower front spoiler all the body rubber. Shame.

That explains the price..It'll cost $$$$ to get the paint correct.

That's what I love about this forum. Everyone points out the stuff I miss. It'll be interesting to see what Abby finds out.

Yea I noticed the wheel and front spoiler as well but for $5k who cares as long as she runs out well. Looks like the car has obviously been care for. I really like the color combo.

It looks like the front calipers are from a '79 and the pad are from an '82. I can't tell on the rears.

Also looks like a respray on the seats...

Went and looked at the car this morning real quickly and returned this afternoon to drive it and check it out in detail. I went in and asked for the guy who had corresponded with Dave, and he told me he had someone on the way to buy it.

As I was leaving, a couple of guys who looked familiar were getting out of their truck. I started laughing as I was on the phone with Dave because it was a couple guys I know from the track who are here on Rennlist. It's a small 928 world we live in!

She went to a R'lister!

Update:
When Abby went to check it out, it was being sold (as of about 4:00) to another Rennlister! It sounds like he was buying it for the engine. I apologize, but I forget who Abby told me it was who was interested/buying, but congratulations to the buyer if it all worked out!

.. oh, and by the way, if you part it out (and those red seats will fit into my 1980) I'll make you an offer..

<--- sheepish grin

It was me. Sorry Dave! The interior is sweet, but the paint has been ruined with an Earl Scheib special $300 job. Every panel needs to be redone, the spoiler is painted, the exhaust tip is painted, drips everywhere. It is really a shame. I will be slowly parting it out and keeping the engine and other spare parts for my race car, but I haven't really decided what to do with the seats yet. I might keep them, I might sell them as-is, or I might refinish them and sell them refinished. I haven't fiddled with it much yet, but most all of the power functions work, and none of the leather is cracked/cut. They just need to be refinished. I'm definitely open to offers on them, though!

If anyone is looking for any parts, shoot me a PM. I don't want to flood the forum with threads, so I'll probably just make one post once I get around to taking parts off.

Oops, I just posted that from my dad's computer. If anyone is looking for any parts, shoot ME a PM, not dbenton996.

BTW, Dave, I'm hoping to move to Greenville in the next year or two, so hopefully we will meet up sometime in the near future. Also, I promise I wasn't trying to snipe the car from you! I thought about it at $6993 and decided it was too much... when I saw it at $4993 I had to jump on it.

Cheers,

No problem at all Mark. I'm glad you picked it up and have a use for it. Sounds like it would have been out of my league anyways. You're plans are better than mine also.

As for the seats, I'll PM you an offer, and if it sounds reasonable just keep it in mind. I'm in no rush, and you'll probably get other offers. But whenever you're ready to unload them, I'm interested.

Dave

Hey Dan,
The trans doesn't have LSD, but it does shift well if you might be interested.

So after inspecting the car further, it was originally silver, and some idiot decided it would look good in some sort of pale blue. I've found overspray of pale blue in the engine compartment. After that, someone decided they could let Earl Scheib paint it back silver and look like new! Not so much...
