Hey Dave - Glad the house all went through.. great area and as you say too good of a time to buy to pass up...

So do you have ability to build the log cabin of your dreams on this land eventually? or are you limited by building permissions...?

I'm sure if its even remotely possible you have been scoping out all the possibe sitings already...?

Best of luck with the move - love to see it one day after you are all sorted out.

Alan

Well, short of a massive windfall, this is going to be it. We could possibly build with a slightly better view if we were willing to cut a couple dozen second-growth redwoods, but we're not. Eventually we will replace the siding with something a bit more rustic. Really the location was the primary goal, log cabin would have been ideal but we put our heads together and figured that route would have us moving in 5-7 years from now, the way the Santa Cruz Planning Dept. works(or doesn't). Instead we will build a garage/workshop and tweak the existing house to our liking.

It's funny, on the first visit up there my wife walked right past the tub to the shower, saying, "That's a really small shower!" it's actually 4" longer than what we have now. Yes, we're really happy about the whole thing!

Thanks Stan! I have to rebuild the carb on my chainsaw and sharpen the blade -- I'm sure it will get lots of mileage! As for the rest... just lots of work.

if you have lots of trees to cut up buy a few new chain blades and install one,
then go cutting get the best blades you can,
sharpening a chainsaw blade is time consuming and a new blade is much sharper

Well, I was serious about the carb but the blade comment was more a figure of speech.

I'm glad you were able to close the deal and I hope you enjoy living there as much as my sister does. Next time I'm visiting I'll stop by and say hello.

Funny one!

Seriously nice pics too... but why did you show your friend's face in one pic and blur it out in the next one (the '66 Chevelle pics early in the thread)??

Thanks! Well, at first he said don't show his face... then later he said it's fine... I guess I just haven't updated that one pic.

Thanks Ken! As for the sister wife thing, I'm from California, not the Ozarks...
