Great burgers and very good Brats. You guys missed out. Beer was cold and there was plenty of it. Dancing girls left at 5 and so did we.
Leidel, I still hate you. My cousin actualy asked me to go with him, but I just couldn't go this weekend. I had already told Lance to set up this Tech Secession. LOL

Only the real men showed up. We got a few things worked out, and a list of costly parts to order. The car will survive. It's running very rich due to no signal out from the O2 sensor. There were a few small vac leaks and the car was in learn mode when we got there.
I didn't have a look at the door latch much. We were working outside and it was pretty warm. Sean will be getting some work coming in a few days. It's gonna need a belt, and MM, prolly a pan gasket as it was smoking a bunch when we started.
I gave it a hard pass down the street and chirped the tires in second and into third. He's got some power under there, we just need to focus it with a bit of tuning.

Cam tower gaskets?? Leaky cam tower gaskets dripping on the manifold will make some fun white smoke. We're going to do John's coming up sometime soon.

This is the 1st weekend that I've been able to do any sort of 'honey do list' in 4 weeks. I'd have love to be there. Let's put this one as number 5 on timing belt jobs in 2.5 weeks.
If it's chirping tires then the trans is hitting way to hard, which means the vacuum system is not doing what it should. That or someone messed with the adjustment.
If the rear cam seals are leaking on an 86.5, plan on doing all of the seals on the cam covers. Spark plugs etc. That is another job. Sounds like the car needs a total go through on front/top/sides.

Yep, it's a 'do-no-maintenance' kind like I got. You'll have to discuss with Lance and have it priced out, or let him help but he needs all the usual suspects.
The vac to the trans may not have been hooked up. We just got the vac leaks to the engine sorted today. Oh yeah, he needs fuel hose kit too. Like I said, no mx in a loooooong time. No worries about not being there. It was damn hot in the driveway. I went home and crashed in the pool with a frosty for a while, now I feel human again. They made me eat red meat, which didn't help a lot.

Vacuum to tranny wasn't hooked up as we were isolating vacuum leaks.
There had been maintenance done....just not everything that needed to be done... and not by folk that need to be working on 928's.

Thanks for coming out John and Doc. It sounds like I still have a long way to go, but the short drives through the neighborhood are still pretty sweet. Im considering calling it the locomotive since it looks more like a coal burning steam engine when you have the petal to the floor. Ive also got a strange feeling that me Roger and Sean are about to get to know one another allot better. Since my hood is leaning against the wall in my living room, I spent 3.5 hours on it with some rubbing compound, wax, and a clay bar. My hood reflects like a mirror, but now my fender is going to look like $hit. lol Ill let yall know as things progress. Thanks again guys.

Awesome, Im calling Roger to order the hing and the O2 sensor tomorrow. Im also going to see what the dealer will charge me on labor to replace the O2 sensor since they will have to remove it to perform the open CAT recall anyway.

+1 to that... O2 sensors are pretty easy to replace. You might on bust one or two knuckles on the heat shields. Assuming you can pass emissions with a Y-pipe, go that route. [I believe Johnson county now has emissions testing...]
