Isn't it great owning a 928?

My red cars with stock wheels don't seem to raise eyebrows. Something about them looks a little more common.
But the spoilerless platinum car is different. Other drivers speed to catch up, then just hang out behind it or on the quarter panels for a while.

Was at a car show yesterday, I also noticed alot more interest than usual.
In fact, it was practicaly non stop Q&A for 4 hours....
It was sunny (for a change) and my head looks like a red tomato now.
It's a weekend show, so today, if no rain, will be there again...
Sorry no pics, to busy.......
I got a special invitation to "expose" my car at an air show last weekend of august. That was kind of cool I must say.
And my car is no way near concours.....
All in all, a very nice day indeed with the 928.
Ps; It was also mistaken for a Ferarri a couple times....

Same here... I just went on a PCA "coffee run" this morning in NW CT. Nice ride! Not too nasty - just some nice scenic cruising. Anyway, my gleaming white shark seemed to drew a LOT of attention from the other drivers, despite the assortment of 911 turbos, Cayman S's, and a pair of classic 912's on the drive. Granted, I put 3 hours of washing, clay-bar-ing, and waxing into it yesterday, but still - the attention seemed totally disproportionate!
There was one young female pedestrian walking with her boyfriend in one of the towns we drove through that kept turning her head every time I revved my engine as I was approaching a stop sign. V8's do have their magic, I guess...

It IS a head turner, no doubt. These cars have been turning heads since day 1.
That's why I got one instead of a Corvette or other P-car. They just have something different about them.

when I finally got to where I could buy a 'real sports car', my first intention was a Corvette. of course in the mid/late 80s the C4 was an improvement but still not up to what I wanted. then I drove a 911.
The first time I drove a 911 SC I did not like it, felt 'weird'. but the more I drove a few I fell in love. so got my slightly used '85 911 targa.
fast forward. never lost my love for the growl of a V8. started noticing the 928s and fell in love ... again. so last year got a 928.
LOVE them both.
PS. the C5/C6 Vette's are great cars, but my budget would not allow me to consider that without selling my 911... NOT.

And just yesterday I passed an Aston Martin going in the other direction on a 4 lane 45 mph road. I watched in admiration as he drove on by... and as I did I could see that he was watching me as well (I was in the 928). Mutual admiration?... I think so.
