Default Mystery panel

I and my local dealer cannot identify the panel shown in the pictures in the PET parts catalogue. It mounts between the battery box heat protector and extends out behind the rear n/s (left in UK) wheelarch to the seam between the steel outer wing and the plastic bumper cover. It seals the bottom of the space that contains the PSD pump. The car is a '91 GT. The panel is corroded and I need a part number to be able to order a new one. Has anybody else had this issue ? Please try to ignore the piece of wood holding the panel in place for the sake of the 'photo.

Hello Marine Blue,

The one piece plastic wheelarch liner has been removed in the picture. the panel indicated is mounted behind the liner and is made of aluminium. This is a rhd UK spec. car. We can find the liner etc but not this aluminium panel. This may be peculiar to UK models. PET shows a lhd build. For instance in PET the rear left wheelarch liner is in 2 pieces, my rhd car has a 1 piece liner.

Sorry I totally missed the indication.

It appears to be a heat sheild of some type, maybe someone who has had the rear apart can chime in.

since you have a copy just get some sheet aluminum and make a new one, all you need are some snips and a vice .
Spray the new panel with some zinc chromate and then a top coat of say silver engine paint. This will keep the new part from corroding. Keep em flying

Agreed. Just get some sheet metal and cut a new one.
