Default WTB: 12 way seats that Paul Champagne can convert into 12 way Sport Seats

Anyone have a pair? I'm thinking about putting them into my 91 S4. Currently have the standard seats. Are there special things that need to be considered to do this swap.... things electrical?

Yes I know they are heavy. Part of the reason I am stroking the engine with Doc Brown is so there will be no performance issues. I've already done the sunroof delete. That probably will make up the difference in the weight of the 12 way seats.

There is no such thing as 12-way Sport Seats.` That would defeat the purpose of lightweight sport seats as the additional motors would make them heavier than 8-way. If you're set on doing this insane thing, you can have the biggre bolsters welded onto 12-way boat anchors.

Paul C can make a set out of 12 way seats for you.
And yes 12 way seats are heavy.

Yep...with a stroker motor..and the way you are building up your S4...the 12 way sports that Paul C makes are the way to go... ..

Look forward to the finished product

I beg to differ
And weight is not the only reason to have a sport seat.

Dan,
I'm pretty sure that even 8 way power sport seats were a rarity, and maybe not even made. Most sport seats I've seen only have two way power, with forward and backward, and seat recline angle being by "manual" control. Since Paul is doing your interior, he can make a set of sport seats, starting with a set of 12 way power "comfort" seats. I think you also would need the 12 way controllers that are under the seats, as I recall - one for each side if you want these to have memory function on both sides as well.

What Gary said

most 12 way comfort do come with memory. But you can keep all 12 way and drop the memory if you want. Then the seat are easy plug and play.

I will have some "naked" frames at OCIC to show everyone what goes into doing a sport conversion.

Heinrich - duuuuuuuude, they say that alot to people who are high strung here in Hawaii, thanks for the correction and the information. I updated my original post, hopefully to your satisfaction. Don't want you to be upset because I didn't know there was no such thing as 12 way Sport Seats.

So anyone got any 12 way regular seats?

what things will Ineed to do to incorporate them. Are there extra motors, relays, etc. that need to be sourced for this to work?

That is a complicated circuit, when the PO has switched wires in the harness connectors, cut wires, removed stuff, etc.

Thanks Gary! Where is the memory button for the 12 way seats? Is i ton the door panel or on the switched on the seat itself?

Paul - please stop posting pics of your work. I'm beginning to think that is the reason behind the flurry of detached retinas among Rlisters.

Door panel and it also controls the mirrors.

Hmmmmm, Thanks Greg. I don't mind doing something if it has moderate complications, but this sounds like there is much more to the process. Sounds like not only would I have to update the seats with the additional motors, perhaps do some massaging at the CE panel as well as perhaps source a different door panel switch for the memory buttons for the seats and mirrors.

Sounding like it is possible but at what cost in terms of $ and potential future electrical issues?

Please keep the comments coming.

As long as not one has messed with the wiring on the car, you should be able to install the buttons in the door and the memory seats and go.

I am not sure if there is a difference in the mirrors or not, but some one here will know.

You did GTS mirrors right? if so you should be set.

My bitch was at who ever switched wires around in my car instead of just replacing the seat memory controller.
