How to start a 10 year garaged 82 928?

Heck, even $500 might do it.
I would say that the only time it ever makes sense to buy a long-time sitter is when its got an immaculate interior and low mileage. Even then it'll cost a lot to resurrect, but at least you'd have a nice low-miles car which would mean you'd be less underwater than you would with this example.

I'm sure JB will chime in at some point and utter his famous quote.. until then
walk away, for what you're going to end up putting into it you can probably get a good running shark with higher mileage... most likely an S4 if you're patient

Well I called the owner and he confirmed that it has been 8 or 9 years since it last ran but he did "put some fuel stablizer in her". When I suggested that all hose and seals would need to be replaced he said" really"!
Thanks all for the advice. Don't see me taking this on unless he gave it to me.
That said I am still looking for a 928. Does not need to be perfect but would prefer something a bit less risky!

Wise decision weedhopper. When I get a vintage car, I like to get one that drives so I can do resto stuff as I drive around. One that won't even start could have sooooo many hidden problems. Trans, engine, brakes, etc.
