Definitely fixable, Rob- do not despair! A good welder can do that for you without much trouble. In fact, most good body shops have that capability...

But if yer gonna scrap it- I'll take it off your hands...

It was already sold. In good conscience, I couldn't sell it without disclosing the cracks so I called the buyer and told him & we're not going through with the sale
So I guess I'll keep it for a while.

Initially I went to three frame shops. They want nothing to do with it, won't even look at it.

Through a friend I found one with the frame jig and the sense enough to know a Porsche is really just another type of automobile.

That crack doesn't even look serious. I've seen huge gaping holes on 240z's repaired and straightened back to "better than factory" straight... 240z race cars are really bad about seems coming apart. Yours looks like a very minor crack.

I would be looking for internal corrosion that might have weakened that area.
I'd probe the whole area with a center punch and a hammer to find thin spots. If it's rusted from the inside you will need to section it and weld in new material. If it's solid, stop-drill the cracks and weld them up.

There's about 1/2 inch movement of the front left frame piece. Of the 3, the longest crack is about 3 inches.
And it looks like another may be under an area where the undercoating has begun to bubble up.

I'll get it repaired and keep an eye on it.
