C-5 corvette no match for euro head to head at 50-60-mph roll. Standing start the c-5 will leave with a car and maintain that car till 100ish then the 928 will impose its will. I have killed many a c-5 in my s4 5 spd. When I was blown a modded z06 was a walk.

Must have been a different type of mod, cause a blown C5 is no joke, hell, a C4 at 12 PSI can go pretty good.

Apples to Apples would be a S4 to a C4 ZR-1, both built in the same time frame, both DOHC V8's that are close to the same displacements.
A blown C4 ZR-1 is a bad ****, that few, if any, 928's are going to catch.

The real difference in the two is the amount of pleasure you get driving them, well that and if you mind getting wet in the rain and love rattles.

There is not doubt that a C4 ZR-1 is a bad ****.

Hi Greg. I was talking a stock c-5 only. Also I agree about the c-4 zr1! King of the street back in the day.

They came in three flavors:
Early = 375bhp
Mid - late = 405bhp
Black Widow option = 500+bhp

I know two people with Black Widow ZR1's. One of them has NOS too.

On average 0-60 is in the 4.5 range with 1/4 in the mid to high 12's @ 110-112mph

My 03 Z06 EASILY could hit 60 in only 3.9
That car was an animal bone stock.
I SERIOUSLY hope everything you guys say about the 5.0 euro hybrid are true. I would LOVE to have similar performance from my 928.

You will not get the same 0-60 performance out of your 928.

I think the only way I hung with him is we both hit it @ 10-20 mph. Off the line my 928 tends to get loose and wheel hop!

I should state that for whatever reason, my '85 (32V, 5speed) was a lot faster than pretty much every other stock 928 that I've heard of. 13.7 sec in 100% stock form (including the spare tire and tools, with an additional small toll box). I'm no lighweight either so if anyting, the car was slightly heavy. When I had the heads off, everything looked stock and the PO was an older gentleman that didn't come across as a gearhead. Maybe it's a factory freak, I don't really know. It did respont to boost fairly well too, with only 5-6psi, no intercooler, it went 12.8sec, in the quarter. Now that the cats are replaced with an H-pipe, the itnake manifold vents are properly routed and sealed, it shoud be a bit faster.
