Default Speedo/Tach/Oil Pressure/Gas/inop

1990 S4 Auto.
OK, I did the search and came up with nothing on the above.
I drove the car into work this morning, no problems. It sat in the parking lot from 8 to noon when I got back in the car.
Started the car up, ran fine. Noted that the yellow anti lock light was on and then noted that nothing else in the pod was operational except the voltmeter.
Drove the car, got a hamburger still nothing except the voltmeter.
When I got back to the lot I tried to close the windows and sunroof with the key but that function did not work, the passenger window closed and that was it. Got in the car, turned on the key, closed the sunroof and driver window no problem. Got out of the car and locked the driver's door and no alarm light flashing.
Any suggestions besides exorcism?

Fuse #25 usually takes out the instrument panel and is usually blow by one of the interior lights shorting out. The usual suspect is the light between the visors where a wire breaks off and touches the roof.
Good luck.

You guys are a Godsend. I was messing with that light over the weekend, it wouldn't switch easily and I was pressing on it pretty hard to get it to switch!
I'll drop it down this evening and clean it up.

Thanks!

Manfred, you nailed it. It was shorting to the frame.
Thanks!

Here are the part numbers for the VW lights that a lot of people replace the originals with:

VW dome light part #: 3B0 947 291 B B41 (I think one of the "B"s is for black so if you want another color you may want to check into the part number a little bit). Got this from Roger at 928sRUs.

VW wiring harness part #: 1T0 972 703
Little plastic clip that you put the wires in and then the whole clip fits into the VW light. I got mine from the local VW shop for two bucks (they had to order it).
