Anybody on here have experience with these kits? Anyone make them in the UK?

Sounds like they are a good way of getting good sound when you want it, but then being able to quieten down when it's just unsocialable!

I'm actually considering something like this. I'd like to be able to open things up for a DE or dyno day, but then set it back to stock for street use.

I saw something on Top Gear about the Lambo convertible that had some kind of 'active exhaust' or variable exhaust. It opens it up more if you're over 3k RPMs or something. Might be interesting to try.

I seem to recall that the newer Boxsters had this feature. My friend has a 2008 with a feature that allows him to uncork his exhaust. Perhaps there may be some components that would be fitted to the 928

Remember seeing active exhaust diverters some time ago. Can't seem to locate them now.
It's a straight exhaust pipe with a 'y' junction in it.
The diverter flap chooses between which of the pipes to send the exhaust down to.

Brilliant, I hadn't thought of manual ones! They are much cheaper aswell!

Thing is, how long would it take the exhaust to cool down enough as to let you take nuts off/put them on....?

I had RaceReady cut outs, they worked great.
One switch to arm the Nos and another to open the exhaust. The rocker switch lets you open the valves anywhere from 0% to 100%.

True, but I was going for manuals because they are cheaper. The amount of tax that might be put on them if I shipped them to Europe means that it needs to be bargain basement. Also, it is probably alot less fuss to fit or to replace in the future!

Where on the exhaust is there clearance on either side of the pipe to fit one of these??

Back in the day, I would use a fuel filler neck and cap as a "lakes pipe". Almost free, right size, instant manual open/close with no tools other than a rag or glove. Of course, then we could get asbestos gasket material to seal the cap.

Just for future reference, what size is the exhaust and where on the exhaust system is there room to fit it?
Anyone who has fitted a set of these before, your opinions would be greatly appreciated...!

I have a vacuum valve, works very well but has now been deemed illegal in my state. So better check the legality.
