Interesting stats. I don't think I've ever seen as low as 14mpg, no matter where or how hard I've driven it.
BTW-the automatic equipped '90 S4 was listed at a combined 15mpg.

sorry guys, the fund is out of money until Monday.
However, you can trade it in to Dodge, Kia (or the next one to follow Dodge's lead)----
and get more than your car is currently worth.....

Hate to say it, but I could see a hemi orange Dodge Challenger replacing my 84... The SRT8 doesn't qualify, but the R/T with a 5.7L does. Or maybe a Camaro if Chevy follows Dodge and matches the gas-for-guzzler value. I'd never be able to sell the 84 for $7K+ and on top of that, zero percent financing too.

Toyota here in Louisiana is already offering the deal if a car has 4mpg less or a truck 2mpg less than a new Toyota.
Of course to get these deals you have to pay sticker..... Ask to be picked up in a limo for the ride to the showroom.... They will be glad to send one.

Remember, any dealer incentives are just that, DEALER incentives, the federal cash for clunkers is on top of whatever they do. Don't let any dealer tell you otherwise. Not that we should be trading our 928's in or anything (as the parts won't live on in others in this situation).

has to have been registered and insure by the owner for one year to be eligible.....just another huge bunch of our tax dollars being spent to "stimulate" the economy or is that to save Government Motors ! Craigs list is full of adds for clunkers that lead one to believe that you could buy the car then get the voucher money.......NOT !!

What happens to the vehicle I trade in?
The CARS Act requires that the trade-in vehicle be crushed or shredded so that it will not be resold for use in the United States or elsewhere as an automobile. The entity crushing or shredding the vehicles in this manner will be allowed to sell some parts of the vehicle prior to crushing or shredding it, but these parts cannot include the engine or the drive train.
**************
Anybody notice if the car you turn in has to have an engine or drivetrain?
Regardless I can't really see many 928 actually going to the crusher this way, but at least one of the CL 928 the owner is saying $4500 or it goes to this program.

Dangler, that right there, is the kicker on this- I could trade in my wife's 2004 Highlander in perfect condition and it has to be destroyed...idiotic if you ask me.. there are cars that would be good candidates for this program, but when you see clean cars in perfect condition being destroyed while REAL clunkers keep on clunkin, that is just wrong...
Problem is, most people driving clunkers can't afford a new car even with a rebate, so the cars getting destroyed are the nicer ones that should have been resold instead of crushed.
More BS if you ask me...

The topic scared me...I thought he had appointed another czar! The 928 czar.
