Still waiting...6 months later into the new year...3 years after you had your stolen car repossessed from you.

Admit it, you aren't going to scan and post diddly in the way of ownership documentation because you never had it.

Yeah, this one and its companion threads were weird. Scary at times. Phila area.
Here are some cliff notes.

The guy said he had been in a motorcycle accident and was hurt. Said father/son project was stolen from in front of the house. Said cops were involved in the theft, as was a helper at a repair shop ( shop that had a notorius reputation with some of the long time members here ). Claimed that his original buying transaction was compromised and through some sort of identity theft the car's paperwork was stolen, with involvement of the parties noted. Both NJ and PA were involved, along with police on the wrong side of the law, which made both his story and his remediation efforts complicated. But his postings on this and other sites, including legal aid sites, were posted from addresses and with screennames that linked him back to the shop. When called on it, he said the shop owner was not the culprit, it was a worker. At one point, he told-off one of the rennlisters with a german quotation that was basically "sleep well, my allegiance is with (colors of a certain world reknowned motorcycle enthusiast group). Said the thief resold the red S4 car and that the new owner resided on rennlist.

Not sure what the motivation was of the whole thing. Coulda been more real than some of us think. Coulda been somebody looking for a do-gooder to give up a car to the cause. Who knows. Uncomfortable though. Later posts suggested the state might help figure it out. At the very end (so far) newbie rennlisters got involved challenging the guy on questionable points without reading the companion threads and should have left it alone.

If nothing else, remember how public these forums are when posting.

The internet is a wonderful place, full of a unlimited wealth of knowledge.

Forums are great. I first got involved in a Forum called SCCOA looking for info for my Super Coupe and I got hooked. It didn't take long to see that some hide behind their keyboards and type away. They cause trouble, stir the pot or try to scam people that aren't savy enough to know they are getting taken. To bad but a reality.

Rennlist seems to be much more mature than SCCOA and for that I am greatful. It doesn't take long for the B.S to rise to the surface like it did on this thread.

Is that the Gong Show, or maybe the one where they all sat in a tic tack toe formation? Can't remember the show. That guy was funny!
