One Year In - 1991 S4
Hi Everyone,
Just thought i would post the email I have just sent to my car's previous owner about my first year of ownership, and how much I have enjoyed every single moment!
Hi Andy,
With it being nearly a year since we purchased the car, we thought we would send you an email to show you how we're getting on! Lots has happened in our first year, including the car nearly being a write off over Christmas!
Firstly,

We started by polishing up the dash and the doors of the car, came up like it was new! Very pleased with it! We then went to an air conditioning extraordinaire in Newcastle to have a luck at the now warm air con. He found that some of the reed valves in the system had become sticky, and £40 later the car was ice cold once again!
We also bought the Jager accessories that we emailed you about before, and they seem to suit the car very well. They weren't massive changes, but just brought the car up-to-date!
Next was the radio system, the mini-disk player and the leaking roof being the two main points. We changed the head unit for a JVC unit with CD, not a big change really but a welcome one! The leaking roof we found to be coming from the aerial which we then removed, blanked out the hole, and replaced it with an aerial stuck to the windscreen.
Then came boxing day and this,

Ouch! But at least we got rid of the scratches on the front PU! And £7000 later the car was back to its usual self. The only reason the car wasn't written off was the fact that the insurance assessor was a retro Porsche fan!

7 months later and we were ready for our next improvement, this time in the shape of some Cup I wheels! And a visit to Douglas Valley Breakers later the car looked like this!

We hope this email shows how much we have enjoyed the car, and how well it is being looked after! You did say that we would really enjoy owning the 928, and you were almost right...it has been much better than that. The best car I have ever driven. We have had a new radiator and water pump (and therefore another timing belt), but who cares.
Hope you are keeping well,
All the best,
Simon and (Chief Engineer) Sam Rawcliffe.
