Won't be able to make it, car is down the HP power steering hose sprung a leak, leaking onto exhaust manifold and parts won't be here until Tuesday.

Thanks to everyone for attending and making this a great event. We got Steve hooked up and back on the road (after one or two little hiccups) and he seemed very happy with the results.

For all of you who said cruising along the beach on Labor Day weekend was a bad idea: Well, ok you were right . Traffic was ridiculous and we ended up just turning around and heading up to Adam's for the tech session. But we DID get to meet at the Shark River and the weather was beautiful there.

We installed all of the parts we were planning to put in and we gave out all of the great gifts that 928sRus donated for the event. Thanks Roger!

And a HUGE thank you to Adam for hosting this event again and providing the tools and a great deal of expertise. This couldn't have happened (again) without your help and hospitality.

And Kieran, I'm sorry you had to leave early before I got a chance to show you my new filter setup, but thanks for working the grill for us, it was much appreciated! I'll see you at the next one.

Sorry for the late reply guys - for some reason, that NJ State Trooper on RT. 18 did not appreciate that I had to test the new top speed after the mods, and they wouldn't let me use my iPhone from the holding cell last night...

Mike and Adam - Thank you so much for everything yesterday. You guys are great. You organized the whole deal, Adam offered up his house / garage, and you both worked your asses off in the hot sun while most of us watched enjoying a beer. It was truly a treat to watch each of you work meticulously on the car. I can honestly say that I learned a ton yesterday, and I know each of you were fielding questions from a bunch of us as you were going along. Your attention to detail and patience with all of the questions was really appreciated.

Roger - the door prizes were way beyond what I had expected. You were very generous, and we all appreciate it! As you will see from the pictures, the Bonnet Struts that I traded Peter for came in handy for me! Thanks again. I do have a few more items on my list now, so I will be reaching out to you in the next week or so to get those on order.

Thanks also to everyone else there yesterday. It's great to be surrounded by a bunch of gear-heads (like myself) that have the same affliction (as my wife calls it) as me. I enjoyed talking and hanging out with all of you and hope to do it again soon.

Now, onto the drive home. Well, it really was awesome. There was such a noticeable difference in the 2k-4500 RPM range - it feels like the car has awoken from a 23-year coma. The torque increase that I can feel in that range makes the car a lot more fun do drive. It has more of a "point-and-shoot" feel to it now. Ken - Great job on your setup - the car has a perfect (I mean absolutely perfect) idle, and the power delivery is so smooth through the entire rev range. I am pleasantly surprised.

The exhaust, though it does not seem any louder, sounds meaner.
It is a raspier sound, especially in that 2k-4500 RPM range. It gets the adrenaline pumping when I hear it.

Ernest and Steve, great pics. That pic of Peter's car is hysterical! It was great seeing you all again and meeting some of you for the first time.

What a great time. Ernest, it's true I do sweat alot but you may have noticed I was replenishing my fluids regularly, especially after it fired up and I was able to replenish with a Guinness or two.

Great time, great people, great products. What a day.

Ken (Porken): What a setup. It was plug and play for us yesterday. It fired on the first turn and idled rock steady right from the get-go. As soon as it warmed up the blink'r light came on, and when I flipped the switch she started blink'in. Have some HP with a side of SERIOUS torque, no muss no fuss .

Sounds like a good time! I like the pic of the 'clean room' for the chip exchange.

I get that feeling of steering with the back wheels with my '86.5 auto, too. The chips and higher fuel pressure really do wake up the 'slush-box' at low rpms. I remember when I installed the X-pipe, way back when. It made better numbers on the dyno, but didn't change the off-idle thrust much. Now, it's not a matter of if I can spin the 265s from a stoplight, it's how far down the block do I want to spin them.

Stab it and steer!
