Ayep. I'll order that part, add it to the collection of round tuits in the big boxes in the garage, and all will be normal in the garage universe once again. Then someday, when the force is with me, I'll install all those parts in a whirlwind effort. Enthalpy will fade to entropy again, and all will be normal in the garage universe once again. FWIW, I'll be using Dwayne's excellent how-to instructions.

What were you thinking should happen now? And pass the popcorn please!

Not should happen, but will happen. A run on these parts by, perhaps.... someone that picks up most -if not all of them- and puts them on eBay for $390 each. So, nothing is gained by anyone but the seller.

Errr, try a search for "autozone+ISV", this is not exactly new info...

For some reason the world didn't end the first few times it was mentioned.

Yeah I know... but I've seen it happen with other items on eBay.

There is a seller with a popular audio component on there now selling a $150 MSRP item for $320 -because he has a large stock of them, and demand is high right now. Sure, it's capitalism at its best (or worst)... but not necessarily the right thing to do or 'honorable' in this economy.

I guess RP is directing his comments at me, does this come in a Bosh box? Is it re-maned part?
You guys do not do this for a living, and have no idea how many AutoZone, Advance, PepBoys, etc parts we take off of cars to repair them.

Due to the price of the current 928 Bosh part I often advise my customers that there is a cheaper alternative from Autozone. I am also a beleiver in cleaning and reusing the original as they rarely fail.
My 2c worth.

This is also a very good point. The problem i had in the end with the idle, wasnt the ISV itself, or even the TPS sensor, it was the improperly adjusted cable which clicks the TPS sensor which then gets the ISV to do its business.

I replaces all those parts when in the end all i really NEEDED to do was adjust the throttle cable to the ISV.

And Greg, you know when you again mention this part in this regard, as if its some knock off, then yeah it is what im referring to. Yes you gave me crap over this part which is clearly a new bosch part and you for whatever reason have a hard time believing this. Look at the way you word your reply? Its clear you think these are inferior. Get over it, its a good deal on a Bosch part, for whatever reason it comes labeled as a "Wells" part but in reality its Bosch. Why this is, I have no idea nor do i care to speculate. But the point of my post is and always was to pass on the info to those that could use it cause it can save you some money.

But look at my immediate post above, the ISV didnt solve the problem, the adjustment of the cable did.

You work on cars long enough, you will also understand.
Glad you got it fixed.

I think in this case, 'Wells' is the distributor.

Same instance if you order the Porsche/Bosch ISV and it is delivered in a 928 Specialists box... (928Sp being the distributor).

Just my .02

Really, the last one I ordered for a 928 came in a Bosch box.
