ive seen the chemists over at Mothers play with Turtle Wax stuff and they arent very impressed with it. Mind you they look on it with curious eyes but Turtle wax has to my knowledge never been much competition as far as making a better product.

Its awesome in a few ways. Its NOT the best wax product for sure, however you can use it on trim, lights, bumpers, wings, and the paint and everything and it gives it all a restorative type look. It also works in direct sunlight and wipes "off" clean! It is also the quickest wax job you can basically do that works well.
The shine works well, if you saw my July 4th cleaning pics it shines. After playing with it I would suggest its use in between real cleaner type waxes or whatever.
Next I am going to the try the 'Black Box' stuff for black cars on Saturday

I'm a Griot's fan myself. Never tried using the synthetic stuff much at all really.

I havn't tried that but really i have a wax fetish and I try all sorts of stuff. I must have 20 different waxes from Meguires, turtle wax, Zymol, Mothers, and more...

I still love Zymol the best, I hope my black box works out well Its a 2 stage all black wax system, lol

+1

I have used it now on three diiferent new cars.... Acura TL, Merecedes E320 Bluetech and Honda Civic Hybrid. Have also used it on a 2005 Honda Pilot that has lived its life outside in Hawaiian sun and salt. It works great, is easy to put on take off and I especially like that there is no white residue on black trim. Not sure how I would feel about putting it on my 928 once it is back from the paint shop. If the paint is really clean and prepped well (clay bar if you need it) and are not looking for the most mirror finished shine for a concurs event, then I'd say it works better than most but not all. That is good enough for me.

one last thing.... I have yet to put any wax on my 66 Sunbeam Tiger though it has been seven years since the resto was completed. If the paint is high quality and put on right and you don't drive the car a lot or leave it out in the elements much, no wax is best. Just wash em and polish them with a very soft microfiber cloth. I have won several concurs events without ever putting wax on my car. A trick an old time Pebble Beach winner taught me.

NXT is by far the best "off the shelf" product out there right now. Go's on and off extremely easy as well.

Did everybody else give up on Rejex? It is as easy as Turtle Ice but seems to last a LONG time.

Never...ever...ever...ever...ever use liquid silicone on fresh paint. That crap is pure silicone, that's why it looks like baby oil. It will fish-eye the paint. Your body shop should have stressed this to you, if they didn't, find another shop. You shouldn't even use any tire dressings with silicone in it for a while, just natural Armor All. Black paint only amplifies this reaction and reflects the negative results even better in the aftermath.

Actually you shouldn't use anything other than natural carnauba wax, the silicone can't bond with the paint, that's why it doesn't last that long. It's your paint...
