If it is the same car in the field that car has been sitting awhile, the original photos surfaced almost 2 years ago, if I can remember correctly. Obviously the car most likely has not moved and has gotten it's share of vandalism. All glass broken, interior will be absolutely destroyed. I'm sure someone could pick it up for free at this point but I doubt anyone would pay money for this car.

Unless it's a bad picture... the color looks almost Magenta. Custom or stock?

It would work as a lawn ornament...

Or if you were making a movie where you needed to drop a 928 into a lake....

I can assure you it's not the same car----

I took the pics of the car (burgundy OB 928 US spec, with the S4 wing) and posted them here a few years ago.

The car was on the side of I-85 in Alabama.....blown motor (reportedly timing belt failure--probably worse), no tires/wheels, rusted/crunched rear quarters, front fenders were cracked, doors were full of bondo, and lot more wrong.

It wasn't even a parts car.

$2k is FAR too high for that 928.."runs and drive great?"...ya sure...thats why its parked in a field & the photos were taken there....more like "it ran when I parked it a million years ago"....

Take a zero off the price and it could be a deal....key word is "could"

Russ, thanks for clearing that up, I remember it was in Alabama now. Quite a Coincidence that 2 928 the same color end up with a similar fate.
