That's good to hear. Now I just need them to depreciate to a level I can afford. Eventually, I want to upgrade the '98 to an '08.

Welcome to the group, Steve. You're in a great location to own a 928, with a wealth of knowledge around you. I'm fortunate to be halfway close to DFW and the brain trust down there. Of course this forum is second to none if you have a problem you need advice on. And you couldn't have picked a 928 much nicer than Brian's.

You completely understand the M3 thing..... I honestly belive my 08 M3 is what a 928 would have been say in 2000 or so if they kept developing it.... its the same size, only 50lbs heavier with all the new whiz bang cool gizmos...however you pay DEARLY for it....

Heres a pic of my current "fleet"

MORE pictures of the 335's! Holy tire batman. I'm gonna be running those on my car soon, I didn't think they fit as easily on the 928 though.

Very nice. Those look like CCW Corsairs, very nice wheels! Are those just modified GTS flares? What about up front?

Stephen
Glad to see you are enjoying Sharky. Seems to have gone to the right "new" owner.
We here in Norcal will miss Sharkys presence at our gatherings.
You do know that ownership requires you to "visit" us Northerners once a year.
Paragraph 7 states "There shall be no more than 10 months until previous owner shall have access to "visitation" of said "Sharky"
And here you thought you signed the "pink slip"

I see the access requirement but it isn't specific to location. Somebody's divorce lawyer slipped!

Had a chance to look at Stephen's car on Sunday. This is post-detailing inspection. Looks great! The pictures don't do it justice. And it's in very good caring hands.

Brian: Thanks for getting and keeping Sharky in such fantastic condition and for being so helpful througout the (long) sales process.

(Note: Brian also called ME the next morning to make sure everything was going OK and to answer any questions I had about getting familiar with Sharky. That's the kind of community spirit that makes the 928 fraternity way cool!)

Bill: Haven't found the opportunity to do the Itallian tune up yet. Maybe in the dead of night on the way back to L.A.---my own private open road race down Hwy 5??? Naw, I can't really risk having Sharky become property of the great state of California...! And thanks again for doing the compression check at your place.

Dr. Bob: Thanks for all the counsel on how to approach the search for and evaluation of my first 928! I think that Sharky is about about as close to a no-brainer as you can get! RE the bearing tool, I "mis-remembered" while we were doing the compression check, but since I was driving back to the Bay Area anyway, I just stopped back at Bill's on the way, so it's on its way back to LA. I'm looking forward to getting Sharky over to Dr. Bob's World Headquarters soon and battle-planning the future of Sharky.

Dwayne: I'm pretty new to the 928 community but I've really enjoyed reading about your projects and procedure writeups. If you are around, and I can fit it into my return trip, I'd certainly enjoy bringing Sharky so you can get a closer look. I'd love to see your "collection" of Sharks. PM or email me.

Thanks again to all. You'll all be seeing a lot more of Sharky and me down the line.

New plates on order:

WOW what great accents and detail Brian put into Sharky...gives me lots of ideas for my 1988 928 S4 AT #0714 Indischrot red w/ black int....nicknamed 'Stocker' by local group and at SITM..Congrats and we are all looking forward to Frenzy13 in Oct. Also, a track weekend in Aug. How close are our 928's ? Last 4 VIN ? Close? Oct 87 manufactured. Good Luck !! Make sure you get to go to SharkTober Fest !!

Hey Stephen - I was wondering if you were ever going to pull the trigger! Glad you got such a great car. Make sure you let us know when you're going over to Bob's - if I'm in town I'd like to come by and see your new ride (and steal/eat Bob's excellent brats).
