Lower Radiator mount P/N's for '90S4
As part of installing my re-tanked radiator I need to drop in some nice new rubber mounts to replace the hard black hockey pucks I've got now. The PET shows the upper and lower mounts are the same part number but the ones in my car are different between upper and lower. The uppers are a simple round rubber cushion. The lower mounts have a flat metal plate with a threaded stud bonded to the bottom side of the cushion. The threaded studs extend down through the radiator cross member and the external oil cooler is attached to them via lock nuts. The rubber doea not appear to be stuck to the metal plates due to age and heat, but well bonded. The mount on one side was very soft due to a now-fixed transmission fluid leak. When I tried to unscrew the nut holding the oil cooler bracket to the mount it would not turn, instead turning the whole mount. I tried holding the rubber part of the mount with some slip-joint pliers to get the nut loose, but when I tried turning the nut it would turn the whole mount. I ended up having to cut the rubber free from the metal plate/stud part so I could get a firm grip and loosen the nut holding the oil cooler bracket. The PET for '92-'95 shows two different P/N's for the upper and lower mount but the pics in the illustration are the same. Anybody know the right P/N's for the lower mount as both Roger and I are stumped? I'll try and post pics of the lower mount later today.

In looking at the PET its possible that someone has re engineered your oil cooler/rad mount.
Can it be returned to another configuration?
You will need to look at the PET to se the different mounts

I don't think it has been re-engineered but who knows as I am the 4th or 5th owner. The brackets on the external oil cooler are per the PET, once I figured out that the PET shows the oil cooler in a TOP view. The rest of the cooler mounting is exactly like the PET along with the rest of the radiator mounting. I thought maybe this was something "improved" but in looking at the lower cross member there is not even really a recess in the cross member to locate the lower mount if you put in something without a stud. The only locater seems to be the threaded stud going down through the cross member.
Here are a couple of pics showing the upper mount on the left and the lower on the right.

Thanks for the tip. I just took a look at the '92-'95 PET and saw those two P/N's. I am going to send Roger a note with these two P/N's and the pics of the mounts I have. Hopefully he can get use both to match up what I have.

I would reuse those because they still look functional.
Ordering new will not make any significant improvement. Since those parts are rarely ordered, they will likely come from Germany and take several weeks unless you pay for expidited shipping.
Some resellers will tell you they are NLA because they don't want the burden of ordering to far out with uncertainty of how long it might take.

Haha, those two are functional and the other upper is too. The other lower is FUBAR. I had to cut the squishy black stuff that is full of ATF off of the plate/stud so I could counter-hold and get the nut retaining the oil cooler bracket off. Someone has been in this part of the car before me as both lower bolts for the condenser are gone as well. I hope I can dig out two bolts from the 40lb bag-o-fasteners from NineApart.
