Yet again I managed to be the fastest Swede on the track!

Dennis busted his kart and Mark was on my tail.. Bill was busy waiting for boost and I don't know what the rest of the guys were doing..

And from you it feels so good

You going to post the video(s) for everyone to see the lights and corners what was too funny to see only the lights pass by on the ceiling for a while

Well, that was a lot of fun! The Hooked On Cars team wasnt' the fastest this time (as usual), but that didn't really take away from the fun.

What did you guys think about the pizza place we went to? It sure was a pretty good deal with all the free ones they gave us.

Thanks also to those who joined for Swedish Coffee and race talk at my house afterwards. It was great to have you all!

I'm sure, we'll have links to pictures soon.

what a great time! YOU were the man! Nice drive.

Too bad dennis' cart blew up. we had a fun bunch of "nascar-ing" that first lap. I love being able to bump and crash and not have to fix or pay for anything afterwards! . I got a great start, and then new it was a matter of time before you would come knocking! couldnt you just open the door, instead of busting it down? Luckly, I didnt get stuck in the tires and was able to get back with you and dennis and somehow, got around Brian the next lap. The restart was hilarious! I wish I would have had front cam, as they restart the race with who ever is in front of the time of the caution. so, it was crash derby for the next couple of laps again. I was lauging so hard I started to cry. Those "no bumping" signs were flying everywhere. I thought they were going to toss the black flag at us!.

Then it calmed down a bit.

Good fun, but NO where near the the bag for the buck as a race at T-hill for the weekend! But, it is fun, because all the porsche guys were there and it was great to see everyone and hang out and have a beer and some pizza.
Thanks Nicole for setting that up. expecially the hospitality at your place afterwards! good times!

In the end, 21.20 was my time for 2nd. Anders ran a 20.90 during his run for the checker! Now we have to get him a 928 to run at the REAL track!! .

Next time we will get some better incar video. helmet cam didnt work out that well. But we had the right idea putting it backwards on Anders!

Thanks Mark!

I saw a chance and took it, since I had the advantage of you and Dennis sharing 1½-karts space real early I decided to just pass you.

Yeah, the re-start was a blast.. There we were with positions 1-2-3 in the back of the queue on the yellow..

I wonder when George will post photos.

Congrats Anders on the victory and thanks to you & Nicole for organizing. Also thanks to Andre for working the coupon system to the max.

As for the race, I had a kickass kart and was able qualify on pole. When we stopped to grid up, I couldn't believe what I saw on the timing screen. I had figured we were all racing for 2nd behind the practicing Swede. In an epic display of poor sportsmanship, I started celebrating like this guy:

As for the race, I tried to carry too much speed into the first turn and got hit a couple times on the inside. After Anders got by, I hunted him down and diced it up a bit. Then my kickass kart decided to quit (evidently the karting staff forgot to fill it with Amsoil). At first I thought they had remotely shut off my kart, like those monster trucks before they veer into the stadium crowd. In reality, the throttle linkage had broken. After changing karts, I started from the tail end of the field & finished 4th.

Still had a great time though. Even in lowly indoor karts, racing rules. Plus the group of folks in the NorCal/Swedish 928 group are always a good group to hang with.

Oh, and in case you are wondering what is Anders' secret to having the energy and concentration to win:

Lots of rest...

Anders,

Nice seeing you again. Too bad it was only for a few hours.

Nichole,

Thanks for organizing this, it was fun, even when I didn't drive. Maybe next time.

Here are a few photos. I took a lot, but I don't have time to go through them all.
