Moaning Sound
I've noticed an unusual "moaning/growling" sound coming from under the car. I can really hear it at startup. It seems like it's right under the shifter. (I have an automatic). Could this be the TT bearings going out? thanks...

has the flex plate been checked and the tension released?

There are some very good write ups regarding thrust bearing failure as a result of not releasing the flex in the plate.
Basically you remove the lower bell housing cover (6 bolts) and lay a straigt edge across the plate. If it is bowed (many are) - loosen the clamp bolt to allow the flex plate to return to a flat condition - check end play of the crankshaft and with the crankshaft fully toward the rear retighten and torque the clamp bolt. I believe the revised torque spec. is 62 lb-ft but it maybe 65.
There is a replacement clamp that is more robust and should prevent future slippage but several people (me included) are planning to monitor the flex plate frequently with the original system for now.

If its coming from under my car, then its gotta be my ex-wife. Problem solved, no need to fix anything.
