Default RADIATOR FAIL....

I developed a leak at the typical right side upper tank of the radiator. I had been having a hard time getting my cooling system to bleed out fully and it has been running hot. I purchaced a used radiator from a vendor here that noted it was in a manual car with 2 caps over the trans cooler fittings. Both of us assuming it was a auto rad. in a manual car.

So I arrive home excided to get the car back on the road. I attempt to unscrew the caps installed on the tank and they appear to be just plugs covering the cooler holes. Now I have the delema of not being able to tighten them back up because the nut is internal to the tank. So now I have nothing to loose, and I figure I will just swap the the tanks on the old to the replacement rad. Now I have the rads. With my rad. apart I figure i should clean the core it was over 1/2 blocked internally, no wonder it was running hot. Put it back together after working on it all day, compressed the tank and tabs. Checked it this am and it leaks still !!!!!!

That said, Does anyone have a radiator for sale. New ? used ( tested ) ..Any help..Please I jest need to get back on the road.

Why not just take it to a qualified RAD shop and have the side tanks replaced?
You can get the side tanks from Roger any of the sponsors, and I suspect less money then buying a used RAD. That way you can use your original RAD.

from your post it sounds like your trying to rehab old parts with old parts
First use the cleaned out core , buy a new side tank and a new side tank seal then fit this to the cleaned core, OR better yet take the core and new tank to a shop and let them do it.
The tank that fails is usually the passenger side tank
