As 928 enthusiasts, nobody is more attuned to controversial styling than we are. I continue to get reactions from gawking praise to sheer indifference. I will day that I was amazed at the looks we got in the GT-R. There was a young blonde next to us at a light that, according to the salesman, wanted to take her top off for us.

I like the looks, although it is definitely an "in-your-face" styling.

In terms of a supercar, let's not forget that it costs a fraction of what a 911 Turbo, GT3 or Ferrari does. I could probably get one for a little over 70k.

Nobody's getting gawking stares in the GTR, unless it is a nissan enthusiast doing the staring. As far as the unscrupulous blonde at the light, it was probably not the car as much as it was two guys checking her out and her natural reaction.

With the 928 comes a whole lifestyle, you learn wrenching skills, and get a worldwide group of friends. Plus the car is a good driving gt/sports car too.
With the GTR you still are following a Kia minivan at 63 mph in the fast lane just as you would be in a 928... All that speed and quickness mostly wasted on the street.

Me too... GTR isn't actually on the list of car I want to have.

928
XJS '83
Corvette Stingray '70
Mustang '67

Nope, not on the list.
It's butt ugly like all the butt ugly car of today.
Even Porsche cars, I don't like their look.
928 was different... I was like, ooooooh nice mean look, that's not a porsche, want one!

I am not trying to be a ***, but I remember when it came out there was a big stink, and then they took the launch feature out and that caused even more of a stink.
I think a trans is more like 15k. Nissan released a new trans cal that was about half way between launch control and the old stock cal. All the cars get that now. Aftermarket uprated clutches have also been released and you can also get a T56 conversion kit if you want a real manual (and it keeps the AWD system).

They are interesting cars for sure. I know lots of people who think they are very cool. Either way, it's silly fast.

Probably the salesman's girlfriend set up to make you think the new car is just what you need

the trans are (were) about 15 grand, I said 2 grand to do 7 launches, which is about how many the were getting 7x2=14, which I rounded to 15, I know the trans are more than 2 grand.

So, can you do some hot launches on the test drive at the dealership?

GTR. Less than 100 miles. Great price.
Needs new transmission.
Make offer.

Ooops.

SInce you have kids and need a liveable back seat.....try the new V8 M3....I have one and its a FAR more comfortable liveable car....with only a slightly less performance than the GTR....I've driven both the GTR and M3....I found the GTR a bit too harsh...like the Z06

I didn't put together the 2k x 7 part of the thread, sorry.
