And this is why I hate backspacing. Some calculations exclude the lip of the rim, so it could be 64.3mm front and 55.2mm rear. Those are more likely the true numbers if a 245 tire is flush with the fender on a '79. Do these wheels have a large "lip"?

If I were you I would sell the rims/tires for the $1800 offer...... it shouldn't cost more than 250 to ship + the rims are only 17"s The economy sucks....I would take the $1800 and RUN!
