Default R 134 volume vs. R 12

Hi all.
I switched to R134 freon on my 87 S4 with rear A/C. The only thing I am not sure of is what is the right volume for R 134. Is it the same as R 12 (in my case its 1200gr) or, as a have read somewhere, should be 30% less, when converted to R 134?

The usual guideline is 80% as much R-134a as R-12.

If, as do most owners, you are using 12-ounce cans, 1200 g = 42 ounces. 80% of that is 34 ounces. Three 12-ounce cans is 36 ounces, so with a little loss, three cans should work fine.
