Default FS 1988 S4 Venice Blue/Grey-Green $4000 COMPLETE RUNNING CAR!

Ive got to get rid of this S4 that ive no time to tend to anymore.

Its currently on Ebay and you can see more pics and the full description of the car. It needs some work but the more I think about it the more I am now considering just doing it myself and returning it to a $6,000-$7,000 car. I know the car is worth quite a bit more than $4K in parts alone but I really have a hard time doing that to a car thats never been hit, has a straight body and pretty decent paint over most of its body.

I simply need to move on with this one but the price is $4,000 to someone off the website.

For any questions about is, please dont hesitate to ask.

The description of the car is copied from the Ebay ad but i am considering addressing a few of the issues to ease concerns and shorten the to do list on this one and recoup a bit more money back as well.

1988 Porsche 928 S4 with 4 speed automatic transmission. 193,900 miles, great project car for a DIY owner.
Good running and driving project car. I just completed a full timing belt and waterpump job with new rollers as well.

Interior is in pretty good shape. There are cracks on the dash and pod and the seat adjustment switches should be refitted. Interior door panels and rear quarters are in leather and not pulling. Everything does work although ive been unable to open up the rear glove box where the rear AC usually resides.

The car runs and drives well, has recent brakes although there is an ABS light on so I believe that is not active. That is the only warning light on the car.

I have not been able to get the car to pass smog here in CA. It just barely fails in the 25mph NOX category measuring 780 out of a max 711. Also the steering rack leaks and the torque tube makes quite a bit of noise when idling. The noise seems to disappear when under load and on the highway and this is something i would rebuild if i were keeping the car.

The body is straight and complete but for the missing front spoiler. The paint is in pretty good shape and does shine quite well for its age. The clear coating has however peeled off of the trim that goes along the roof of the car above the doors. There are also a few scratches on the front fenders and the front bumper cover has allot stone chips. The windshield also has a crack on the passenger side.

The car has never been in an accident, very straight body and the car does have a clean title.

If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to give me a call before bidding for any information or answers to any questions you may have.

All PPI inspections should be handled prior to the end of auction and if you are interested in this please contact me and i will make the car available to a tech of your choice within a reasonable distance.

Winning bidder will be responsible for a $1,000.00 deposit to be in hand within 48 hours of close of auction. Remainder of payment is due within 7 days of close of listing.

Again, this price is for the car in its current state as described in the above condition. I do however have a replacement steering rack that would fix the PS leak, I am also willing to service the transmission and fix the leaking pan gasket and flush the fluid. I also believe that the TT noise could be from the rear TT coupler which i will loosen, adjust then re-torque as the noise is eerily similiar to the one described in a post years ago that i came across where the TT coupler was the item in question. Depending on what other time and money i put into the car the price is subject to change, but will only do so with the rectification of problems on the above list. So it will go up, but will have fewer issues.

If your interested, let me know

Hmmm...
Taking bets on how long this one last would require a stop watch!
I love the color....
Should be a quick sale Ryan!

Ricer, you can store it at my place

Is it still registered in FL, so a FL buyer should check on any back registration issues?

Smog has to get fixed for a Calif buyer, that leaves 48 states.

its still got florida plates i can tell you that.

If i have this thing another week, i will likely play around with it and take it for another smog test and see where it stands, Im pretty sure i can get it to pass without too much effort honestly, that may also be a non issue before long, as soon as it passes smog and carries CA plates though, the price obviously goes up.

Florida plates don't mean a thing - they are supposed to stay with the owner, along with any fines
I'd be all over it if 5th gear worked

Ryan,
You remind me of Armando Montelongo....

Are you trying to make this a business or do you just have a short attention span?

And before you bight my head off... I'm just bustin' your *****.

Seriously though, why don't you want it? Seems like a great car with an interesting color combo.

None-the-less, good luck with the sale.

Seems like a good deal. If I wasn't over loaded with cars I'd take it.

I was just thinking to myself ive regressed in the 928 world

Started off with a GT that in the end was tip top when i sold it, then lived with what became a pretty nice S4. Now i have a high mile S4 and a 5 speed S without an engine.....

Not to mention i have another car ive been doing a ton of work on which isnt a Porsche. The problem is i have too many cars, and none of them are what I really want.

So i need to sell this one, then i need to put the 85 back together and get it running and sell it. Although thats probably 3-4 months down the road. In truth this is the 3rd 928 ive had for sale in the past year and i wont be making any money on this one, just hoping to break even.

This is the cheapest running S4 ive ever seen for sale by a member here on this board. I dont have the time or energy to play around with it, thats the simple fact of the matter.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I've got vehicles I like but no room for them so I really need to sell 2 of them but I know I'll regret it. It's also not fair that the two Trans Am's just sit and collect dust because I like the BMW and Porsche the best. Problem is I drive them and decide I can't sell them. Gonna have to though.

Ryan - is that the orginal exterior and interior colors? Seems like a strange/unique combination.

yeah Nicole didnt believe me when she read my signature. I had to take pics.

The exterior color is original as its never been repainted and all the chassis is the same color, the interior could have been swapped, but i doubt it, its all pretty solid as in when people usually swap EVERYTHING, something isnt bolted down correctly.

It could be the only one of its kind in Venice Blue and Grey-Green, I thank that just made it worth another dollar though

NEW PRICE $4001.00

I read the heading of blue and green and thought it must be a pair of golf pants. I would have never thought the two colors would work but I like it. Good luck with the sale Ryan you certainly have it priced fairly.
