I'd like to take the stupid thing apart. It appears to me the glass is pressed in until it snaps under the lip of the case, but I can't figure out how to stretch the rather rigid case and get the glass out without breaking it.
I use sunshades almost religiously.

Bill - I'll dig out one of my old broken mirrors and see if there is a reverse-engineer view from the inside, for how to safely disassemble. My guess is the hard plastic will break before the mirror would pop out.
If memory serves, the welt looking ring around perimeter is what holds the pieces togeter, but it is "Hercules" glued to the housing so you can't disassemble. If you have a new one coming, probably not tragic if a little too much finesse breaks it, although if only the dimmer lever is broken, it's a keeper for a backup....
