Default WTB '87-'95 Driver-side fog/high beam lens.

Title pretty much says it all. I picked up a nasty stone on the way to Banner Elk for SITM that shattered my Dvr-side fog lens. Looking for a replacement that is hopefully not too pitted.

Either send me a PM or email me at andrewmolson "AT" yahoo "dot" com.
Thanks in advance.

There's a guy in England who has replacement lenses for 140 Lbs. He runs auctions on EBay UK pretty regularly ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Porsche-928-92...3%3A2|294%3A50

Maybe Roger would be nice enough to work up a group buy and bring over a bunch of these in one shipment to keep the cost down ???

I'd be in for a group buy on these, have an almost brand new one on the passenger side of the GTS with a 1/2" rock hole in it

EDIT: The Ebay ad says not suitable for US-spec cars- is there a real difference, or just some DOT silliness?

RHD pattern I'd assume...

Is there a beam pattern to the fog/high beam lenses?
The high beam assist light just throws a smear of light on mine.
And I didn't notice any left/right bias to the fog light wide beam.

Anyone?

I think there may be a tilt to the fog pattern (not as obvious as on H4's), It would also make sense if there was more side spill to the curb side but I haven't actually noticed this.

If he notes they are incompatible I assume they are since he's dramatically
limiting his market with that statement.

Alan

Me neither.
The fluting on the fog lens seems non left/right biased.
Maybe he's just protecting his legal behind.

Not sure if the Fog/High beam lenses escaped neutering from the DOT.

Begs the question (if they're indeed different so the light is thrown one way or the other) why Porsche didn't just make the things symmetric across the horizontal axis, so that they could be mounted one way for LHD countries and the other for RHD countries.

Remember there are different Lenses for USA vs Rest of World and the RHD's are a variant of the ROW type.

ROW lenses have the aux headlights on the inside and the fogs on the outside (while USA is for some reason reversed - never figured out why..?) Of course the ROW lenses also have the extra marker light in the fog reflector too.

I have a set of both (USA on car - ROW in box) but have not looked at the lens differences much beyond that - but I do believe they look rather more different than a direct transposition.

Andrew I will have these USA spec fixtures from my GTS (complete) for sale when I get around to swapping my ROW fixtures/lenses in.

I have used stongard for the last 60K miles with no issues... I'd recommend it if you stick with stock bulbs (or in my case stock/HID).

Alan, I would greatly appreciate it if you could put my name on a set when you're ready to do the swap. A good friend is giving me one of his that has a small crack in it - it will hold me over until you do your swap.

Thanks.

P.s. I'm definitely getting the stoneguard... these things are expensive!

Andrew,

The bad news is "I think the Stonegard is no longer available"!!! There may be other protectant options, however.
