Default 928 OCIC:: Texan's Sound Off

For those who intend on making the trip to OCIC here in 6 weeks or so, I wanted to throw out a few pictures of scenery in the Texas landscape. Fellow DFW'ers, please contribute as well. Quite a few folks have interesting misconceptions about Texas and its "driving experience." Granted, there are no mountains, deserts or other major natural landmarks within reasonable driving distance of Arlington. I still wanted to offer up the fact that there are quite a few very nice drives in the area. [I believe we are organizing a few for the Sunday outing during OCIC].

I would also like to, once again, say thanks to the DFW crew. August will be my one year anniversary of owning a shark. As I've previously owned/restored quite a number of vintage Jaguars, I've been around the classic car scene since birth. [my first memorable photo was with Sterling Moss at the Dallas Grand Prix in his vintage Testarosa]. The local 928 crew has welcomed me with open arms and I'd like to pass on my thanks. The pictures below reflect my *running* 80' ROW at Erwin Park in McKinney. If it weren't for you [collective group], the car wouldn't be functional.

To those attending OCIC, get ready for a great time! Texas is famous for its hospitality and the local 928 group follows true to heart.

Come on now, that's not Texas. Where are the dead skunks and tumble weeds? Also, I see NO oil wells.

I'll be out at my in-laws place for the 4th of July weekend. Their vineyard has plenty of wildlife... and an oil well or two.

thanks for the kind words sty3x. The paint is actually not all that great. The previous owner changed the color from Silver to Guards Red. There are some pretty nasty spots here and there. I've just learned to photograph around them :-)
