Default Heinrich visiting San Diego

I'm visiting you SoCallers in the next few weeks (bringing the girlfriend). I'd like to get together. Also, if you can give me pointers on the best outdoor restaurtants; the zoo; Sea World; whatever else I should see while I'm there. I may buy one of those 3-in-1 deals where I get access to SW and the Zoo.

Zoo and wildanimal park, IIRC, go together. Seaworld is better for adults who like shows and stuff.

Outdoor restaurants - basically all of them have some seating outdoors except for chains - and even they do.

I'd make sure you get a rental car if you are flying in.

The clouds are burning off sooner, so if you some closer to the end of june it would be better.

Maybe we can use this as an excuse to restart the go-kart meet.

He's going to be here at a time when we should be seeing the end of "June Gloom", but I'll leave it up to Heinrich to say when... Actually, the "June Gloom" would make him feel right at home.

Heinrich, what is your budget food-wise? We have some really nice restaurants here in Coronado with outdoor seating and very nice views of the city/bay or ocean.

I'm up for a gtg and second Bill's suggestion on Coronado, classic San Diego. Plenty of joints in Pacific and Mission Beaches too.

Depending on my schedule, a tour of some of our naval hardware is always a must see.

Get some kick-butt SPF, the sun is still strong enough to make the stay unpleasent if you get too much the in first day or two. If you like mexican food, now is the time to get your fill.

How about a GTG near Oceanside or something? Kind of a halfway point for the LA and SD crowd? Wasn't one of the karting places in Brendan's thread near there?

H...........only visited the SD area once on biz so time to see the sights was limited. I realy liked the Coronado Island, and that real fancy hotel over there. We had a beer there then escaped with our wallets 'almost' intatct.

Nice to pretend once in a while.
