pulled them off today. I wasnt able to reach the "machined" surface from the inside, without the rotor off the car. with the rotor off the car, it is clear. well, not a big deal. 2mm just has to be turned off the inside of the mercedes rotor, and some holes drilled. Rotors are under $75 each for some reason, so it migth be worth the machining process.

Anyway, drove some highway miles with the rotor replaced with the stock S4 rotor. even under hard braking, the difference between the two sides was pretty minimal. Probably just a heat advantage, as I dont think that near 1" is really any huge difference. It didnt pull to one side like I thought it would. I think what I felt was the pads compound difference.

I would recommend against machining the inside of the rotor hat. It would be far better to turn down the hub the 2mm if you want to run these rotors, but then you will be forced to run them from there on out.

Probably not a great idea now that you mention it. Hassle factor very high for a savings of $100 for the set and a quarter inch of rotor diameter.

Thank for the reality check guys!!
