Thanks Kevin... that gives me some encouragement to do the same thing!

When I was told about the reactivity between the two metals, it was explained to me that even in the attaching of the 2 metals (aluminum body panel to a steel frame for example), Porsche used stainless screws or bolts and incorporated a thin fibrous washer of sorts -to keep the metals from actually making contact and thus begin the corrosion process. They also used a 'putty' type seal along the juncture between the bolt holes to further separate the metals.

I would be interested in the techniques to do what you did to yours to keep this from being an issue! They make for a better quarter than the GTS (IMHO).

I agree Barry. The SEMS adhesive serves as that 'seal". The cut out opening is flanged with a 5/8 flanger and punched every couple inches for flow through. Makes a "mushroom" of adhesive on the inner side which when ground flat makes a super strong bond. Then cosmoline or equivalent is applied to entire inner side. Must use glass to finish seam. Won't take much as the flanger flushes the two mating surfaces. The fuel door must be heated(sparingly) and shaped to the new contour as well as some fabrication in the fuel door area, very minor. Good luck in your endeavor my friend!

Iv been playing with this idea for a bit...i thought of using a stock wing from an Audi TT (the last wing of the old body has a rubber like lip ) looks alot like a "whale tail" iv done the mesurments and it will fit(needs trimming to line up to the hatch), you would lose the hatch key hole. its also very much like what Porsche had on the test mule 928's in 76-77'

Thanks Marc. Tommy, That would work with concession. And I agree that it would look good with some fabrication. Let me know if you proceed with it.

No problem JP I wanted to see that too. Now that I see it kinda looks like a mini-skirt on a 300lb woman. Something similar can be done that would look right though I'm sure.

Yeah James... get rid of that Vette! It looks like that pic was photoshopped anyway... what is she doing with her left hand?!? It's not far enough away to be on the back glass... there's no wing to hold onto either! I think its fake... and since it is fake -just edit out the Vette all together. Then, who cares what she is doing with that hand!

LOL! I don't care what she is doing w/ her left hand in that picture, but I do have a few ideas of what I would LIKE her to be doing with her left hand...or her right hand or.... well, you get the idea!

nope close...well not realy...the TT "S" spoiler is about 3.25" thick at the base and about 11" off the base that includes the rubber tip section. its "ALOT" like a whale tail, would cover the key hole in the tail gate though.
I like yours..look like a TT knockoff regular spoiler but move it down
