p.s. I think you should just do exhaust, intake and sharktune, and leave the heavy mods for wheels/tires and suspension. And then drive it a lot.

Dave said you really found a nice one. You have to join us on our pilgrimage to SITM one of these years. We leave 6/4 thursday. Also you have to drive my car to see how the suspension works.

I just realized by searching photos that 968 had that were wider in relation to the car, ending almost exactly at the same spot as in my doctored photo:

You beat me to it. My wife's 968 has very wide slats in the front and now that I compare it to the 928, the 928 looks weird with such narrow ones.

Default Two updates

(1) Alan was right. I looked at the bumper cover and spoiler this afternoon. Boy, this would be a project. Implementation at minimum challenging.

Only two out of the three air vents, namely the top two in the bumper cover, could perhaps be modified. Even then, I can already see a number of problems, including the shape of the wheel shrouding profile of the spoiler and the problem of modifying a plastic part made from unknown type of plastic. Because it's a flexible plastic part that takes abuse, I can't even paper in green over the problems because I don't know a body shop that could be trusted to make the mods.

The method that ketchmi and JK are using may be the practical alternative. Especially if the non-hideous Strosek piece is NLA and they only make the hideous one now.

(2) The wheelwell has significant vacuum. I took a ride on the freshly paved route 2 with silicon hose run to both the existing bumper cover vents and inside the wheelwell front of the tire. Watching the radar detector, the road, the traffic, and my home made water manometer proved challenging, but the water column clearly moved. The pressure at the front bumper vent is high enough that one can feel it and the vacuum inside the wheelwell is also high enough that I could feel it. So venting the intercooler flow path from the front bumper, a la ketchmi and JK, is a great idea from the flow perspective.

Man your good at photoshop....(or better than me anyway)......

I think a big consideration is your planned usage of the 928....if you plan for primarily street with the occasional dyno-autox or you won't need lots of extra airflow.....but if you plan to take your big HP TT to the track for hard running in 100+F temps...then its a good idea.....I know some 928 racers cut holes in the middle of the bumper for better airflow.....

I need more vent surface area. Functional requirement, minimizing the aesthetic cost.

It's low tech, keeping it simple and stupid: Microsoft Paint!

I just copy and paste the existing vents to new places in suitably sized chunks.

Cool

Tuomo... unless you are really good at plastic work, it will be very difficult to have the appearance of the finished ends of the grill slats. Take a look at this bumper cover/spoiler combo from A.I.R. -it is part of their 928 Testarossa kit. The grill slats are already done and as wide as your photoshop pic!

Tuomo,

It is: http://www.americaninternationalraci...259246&page=90

That bumper looks like it easily replaces the stock bumper cover.

Thanks White Lightnin' & Nicholbry.

That ebay piece is for earlier cars, doesn't fit S4 I think.
