Spotted: 928 in Chicago today around 7 am
Driving southbound on I-294..u merged on the highway from the Lake Forest Oasis and I saw it..a gold metallic 928 ..maybe 84-85 w/Rennlist sticker in the driver rear window! I watched with envy as you merge and move over to the far left! Oh .. how I dreamed it was me as I sped up to catch you! MOVE OVER TRUCK YOU'RE BLOCKING MY VIEW!! That undeniable sleek body, the P O R S C H E across the back, spoiler on the trunk, rub strips and working antenna! I could hear the bwaaaaaa with my windows up!! Could it be Dave or another Chicago area Rennlister who's been helping me with my never ending no start (Motivation Needed Thread)? I pulled up and looked at the smile on your face...the I got mine on the road and you don't smile..the sun is shining here in Chitown and I'm cruising in my 928 while yours is still on jack stands smile...the Im going to SITM or SHARKS-IN-HELL or OCIC in Dallas smile .. the traffic is moving for once on SB I-294 smile..or even worse I'm off work today and you are not smile! 
Alas...I pass you...drooling, palms sweaty,dillusional.... but jealous, envious and even more determined to get mine on the road
! As I drive my econobox off the exit at Lake Cook, I glance in the rear view mirror as I see the sun glittering off the Porsche crest on the hood and I swear I saw your Shark wink at me.

I got on at Townline at 7:09 and must have just missed it. I did have an EVO trying to race me, I just stayed in 5th and watched his radar detector through his windshield. It was a nice open morning on 294, relatively speaking. If it was red it was me. BTW, I'll be at Autobahn on Monday, watching because the novice class was filled...

it's an 86, I live in Mundelien, off Butterfield.
What needs to be done to get you on the road?
I've got a FOG Motorsports sticker on the back window.
(Fat Old Guys/Gals Motorsports is an ad hoc group of us that run DE's, cars in our group include my brother's Viper, an 08 GTO, a new GTR, a couple Z06 Vettes, an Infiniti something or other, we're all involved in some part of facilities engineering)

I've been chasing a no start for about 6 months now car was last started 2.5 years ago. My thread "Motivation Needed" has all the gory details. In fact I'll be updating it this morning as I've done more troubleshooting as of yesterday. Once I get her started, then I need to replace the trans and I should be good to go! You're in Mundelien which is right up the street from me...
Yes today is a good day to be on the road!

I never knew such a place existed around here! I always thought Joliet Speedway was the only race place south!

The first time I ran Autobahn I had a TR-7.
I've run there with some clubs in the past, this is with http://www.mvptracktime.com/ They just came out with a flyer for August 3rd.
A good group is the Alfa Romeo Club, CAROC out of Chicago. They hae Blackhawk and Road AMerica every year and they split the time with some corvette guys. Makes it somewhat affordable.
If I win the lottery maybe I'll join Autobahn. Beats the heck out of golfing.
