Just got one for my 86.5 and Im wondering if there is a write up on this? I havent even looked in there yet but it dont seem to hard.

It's tight. The best tool to use is a set of long spade-style pliers to clamp the bushings into place. On my car that was HARD to do. Otherwise the install is really straightforward. Slide the base of the shift boot forward and carefully work it free. Then pull up on the **** to remove it, which might also be hard. Finally a couple of snap rings to remove (watch the springs), pull the old lever off the pins, install new one with a little grease, bushings and no springs.

Jeez. I cant even believe I asked..... that was too easy. I used a reg. screwdriver and a pair of pliers.
3 beers max time. (from me thats a casual 40min.)
