Default 928 Racecar Photos...

Hello all, Jason Hart here (Bud Hart's son for those that know him). I have put a page on my site "928" to document the progress of the race car. I also added a bit of background for those who do not know the car, my father or myself. The link to the site is here
http://www.jasonhartracing.com
Thanks for taking the time to stop by if you do and I will check back to see if there are any questions/comments. Cheers, J

Hi Jason,

Very cool knowing a bit more of the history behind the fabled "700HP 16 valve 928." It acheived a Holy Grail status among a few of us!

Our very best wishes to you and your Father on this build up. Please do keep us informed along the way. The work done on this gives inspiration to many on this list.

Sorry I missed you at ECR Jason.

This car he is building is a f*cking beast. The build quality is 2nd to none. There have been a few trips to Jasons garage to see the progress. His shop is unbelieveable.

Talking to Bud has been a pleasure and a treasure. I hope that at least 1/2 of what he knows has trickled down to Jason.

Hi Jason, We met your dad, Bud at one of our breakfast meetings. Great guy who had us all mesmarized with what he had done with the Bob Devore car and the race car. Please bring the car AND your dad to OCIC even if it can't come off of a trailer. Both will be a big hit with everyone in attendance. Keeps us updated on the progress too.

Jason,
Awesome job and to think both you and your father have visited my shop.
We are in awe of you both and you take the 928 to a new level in my eyes.

Bud told us some amazing stories and his knowledge is vast.

If we have to come and drag the car to OCIC we will.
Roger

Jason
So this is the mysterious Bob Devore 6.5L of legend? Or is there another 928 somewhere? 711hp out of a 16V NA...that makes about 604whp...quite a bit higher than anything else with 16V right now!

the compression has to be sky high I guess.... Maybe higher than anyone is currently willing to go?

Thanks for the interest gentleman. If anyone is in need of big horsepower my father has all that info and if you would like to get a hold of him contact me and I will get you together. FYI he has already specked out a projected 1000hp twin turbo, so if anyone would like to have him build it out for them let me know. After making 711hp NA back in the 90's a 1000hp today should be a breeze, although not necessarily cheap...LOL. For those that asked this car is not Bob's car, it is a car we built after Bob had passed away. It was my first car to experience in racing and was just a few seconds a lap slower than a 3.8L RSR at the time. This is version 2 as the original Red car pictured has been turned into this project. We currently have an assembled ready to go 6.0L mild motor for this car hoping to put out around 500-550hp or so. Compression in this motor is around 11:1, my father could tell you what Bob's was...I would imagine around 14:1 or so. With the motor being moved back 14.5" it is a little tight so that is why the headers are snaked around. They are triple step, equal length (about 36" per tube) as we built everything in this motor to get the torque output as high as possible. I will do what I can to get my father down here for OCIC and mock the car up potentially. Keep the interest and questions coming and if you are local and want to see that is fine by me. J

Cool. If you bring the headers all the way there, why not do a 180 degree set of headers?

There wasn't enough room with 13" front tires and a front track that is only 2" total wider than a stock 928, not to mention the tubes of the frame need to be where they are to maximize torsional rigidity.
