Nice work. That "grey" / tan color vinyl seems prone to burn along the top edge. I've seen several 944s, including my own, with the same problem. Vinyl spray paint does the trick.

Okay, so now I'm up to about $37 in paint.

Picked up some of the black and tired it on the carpet since my carpet was TRASHED anyway. This stuff is amazing.

And how it sits now after a couple of hours of paint.

 

Wow what a change! Does the carpet feel OK after the paint treatment or does it leave a hard feel to it. I love the new color combo. Nice work..

 

Carpet feels a little more stiff, but honestly I will never really be in contact with it anyway.

 

New carpet is relatively inexpensive, and relatively easy to change. If the rugs are sunfaded and not worn, perhaps the spray dye is a worthwhile option. Did you do the sparying in place, or remove and spray outside the car?

The redye on the lower dash and the console is pretty impressive. Nice work!

 

For $37 dollars not bad.
Compared to where you started I would say it was well worth it. Don't expect it to last if you actually drive your car or get in with wet shoes one day but it looks good in pictures. I've seen used car lots that did a lot worse things then that to make a car look good real quick on the cheap

 

From what I have read all over the net this stuff holds up amazingly well.

It was never my plan to not replace the carpet, I just thought I would give this a shot and see how it worked since my carpet was total junk anyway. I am going to run it this way for awhile just out of shear curiousity to see how it holds up though.

 

I've been going back and forth about what to do with my interior. Its no where near as bad as your's was. I love the full leather work of Paul Champaign and Rob Budd. But for the price and results of just re-spaying, you've convinced me, Cole. Heck, at that price its worth it just to see how it comes. The money I'll save can go towards that supercharger I've been eyeing.

 

Very nice. I cleaned, re-conditioned and dyed my interior last month. It's amazing what a change it made.

I picked up the car when an opportunity came up. Was not really ready to do one of my "normal" projects on it yet. So I figured I would just clean it up a bit and drive it until I am ready to do what I normally do....(which is complete and total overkill).

So the current plan was to just get it clean enough to drive around. So here is where it started a month ago.


Notice the sweet speakers, the nice chew stains on the carpet, the red dash, etc.




Sweet 90s 300ZX seats. I can't even begin to tell you how heavy these are. I'm 6'2" and 240lbs and they were hard to lift out to the trash.




I picked up a set of Scorpion seats down at checker. These are the cheap seats ($350 total). So we will see how they work out. Had to do minor fab to get them to fit. (welding, etc)

$40 in interior paint.
$20 for a new instrument surround on ebay.
---JVC stereo FREE, left over from another project.
Supposed to pick up a used 3 spoke leather Momo from a guy today for $75
-Simpson harness left over from my other race car, so free.
$10 for a new shift boot from Advanced Auto. (black with red stitching)

I picked up this Triumph Speed Triple with 8 different colors of shake-n-shoot on it.



Here it is now. Almost done. When it is totally done, I will start on the 951 for real.

 

Finally got it out of the garage for some pics in the sunlight. Any tips on restoring the look and feel to the used Momo wheel?





....and the outside just to prove it does leave the garage.

 

That is a damn fine interior for 40 bucks. I'd be keenly interested to know how well it wears. My vinyl dash and pod are cracked and splitting, and I was going to reupholster in leather, but I may just fill the cracks and spray...(saves the money to restore my gf's new OB)
