Where are we at price wise? About the same as a Movado or upwards of a Rolex Daytona?

Will I be selling my 928's to buy a 928 watch?

RKD - Ha! 2-fun-e. BTW, I work for Adobe. Keep the Photoshop revenue coming in Watch looks good in this latest configuration as long as the hands glow bright enough in lowlight. I plan on showboating it while out on the town in my car. Would like to know I could read it at night.

James - good ideas flowing from everywhere. You're doing a great job of collecting everyone's input. Must be like herding fornicating cats. I feel confident the end result will be worth it. Thanks for getting this started and following through.

To me, the 2nd hand needs to be white to be seen or useful. The black with the small white tip is hardly visable. Being white would make it distinctive from the other hands on a quick glance. The 928 under the car looks good to me, but even without it is nice. I agree no need to have the Limited Edition written on it, that will be obvious with the unique look of the watch.

Regarding the difference in $300 to $500, that's almost double in price. I agree its a great bargain whether quartz at $300 or automatic at $500, but you will have many more potential buyers at $300. Especially if you need sell 100 watches to make this work. That could be the obvious critical factor for any on the $$ fence. It won't do any good if you only have 50 willing to pay $500 & it doesn't happen, vs 100 who can shell out $300 & the watch becomes a reality.

I have a Casio WaveCeptor that the LED backight lights up the watch from around the outside edge of the face like a gauge. THAT would be WAY cool!

You can set it so that when you hold your arm up like you are going to look at your watch and tilt the watch towards you, the backlight automatically lights for 20 seconds.

^^ very cool idea. 20 seconds though? How long does it take you to see the time, seems like a battery waster.

Do you ever look at your watch and immediately forget the time, so you look again? And still it doesn't register, so you have to look a third time. And then someone asks you what time it is, and you actually have to look at your watch for the forth time in three minutes? Don't you feel stupid?

Oh yeah! Alzheimers.

Practice this little diddy and repeat to yourself every morning before going out the door

Watch - Wallet - ********* - Spectacles. If you can say yes to all four, you're good to go

The LED light doesn't use very much battery. And it's pretty smart. Moving my arm around every which way doesn't light it. The watch has to be level plus or minus a few degrees then tilted toward you at least 15 degrees or it doesn't light. I timed it a couple of times and it stays on for more like 5 seconds not the 20 it says in the manual. Looks like they revised the watch programming and forgot to update the manual. I leave the automatic light turned off.

Guys,

Thanks for the support. Looking forward to making this a reality. It will be easy enough to choose a second hand color later as well as removing the "Limited Edition" from the face. Those are small potato's compared to the overall design issues that we faced with this. Looks like we are all in line and liking what will likely be the final form, so keep your eyes peeled for a proto face in a couple of weeks!

The green glow is the standard deal. This company uses a VERY luminous material too, not unlike that Seiko shown! The red will glow red and the orange will glow orange, but neither will be as bright as the "white" areas.

Special presentation box, nice custom strap (vs. the standard version of this watch that is imported and available for $495)...exhibition back... This is going to be a watch you can be VERY PROUD OF!

Thanks for the support guys!

James the watch is looking great, but why do I keep thinking that at $500 a copy, 100 buyers is just WAY TOO optimistic? I'm thinking maybe 12. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Charley,

Minimum order is 100 and there are already 50 at or above the $475 poll mark... So, while 100 might be a little rich, we will just have to see... it either dies for lack of interest and funds or we order at least 100 watches and sell them one way or another.

Some folks are car AND watch folks others are not and this is for those who are BOTH. That is why we have chosen to do a very nice watch movement vs. a cheap Quartz movement that does not appeal to serious watch guys.

Actually there are 51 above the $375 poll mark. Only 22 above the $500 mark.

I hope I'm wrong, because I love the watch, and I think you've done a hell of a job dealing with all the ideas and pulling it all together very patiently.

I should probably keep my mouth shut, but i'm just sayin'...
