Default Black Shark on the Saw Mill Parkway in NY

I've seen a black shark every morning and every evening doing the reverse of my commute on the Saw Mill Parkway. Anyone here?

Whoever it is, your car sounds great going past me at warp 2...

I gotta start bringing mine to work every so often. The Mazda wagon is slowly robbing me of my soul.

Default That could be me

I've got an 89 S4 that I drive to Teaneck NJ over the Tappan Zee Bridge. The ride is much more fun than in my Allroad.

I've also noticed that people actually pull out of the left lane when I come up behind them in the 928, whereas when I'm in the Audi they'll just sit there.

Default OB or S4?

Brian....you see the car every day?

Which is the opposite commute of you? Going north in the morning and south in the evening?

Ummmm.....that could be Kevin in his newly built FrankenShark. In fact, at warp 2, it probably is.

Tom, yeah, people probably do pull over out of your way if your car looks like Kevin's car at all. I'm not surprised. The regular drivers who see him out there daily know he's coming when they hear the car, and they move fast when they see him in their rearview. He has trained them very well by now.

He can't stand traffic!!

Leslie,

It must be Kevin. He is heading North every morning and South at night. At night I see him up by 684 around 5:30 or so and in the morning, a bit more South as we do the commute...

I look for him and point out the car to my wife every day (and tell her that I need to get mine sounding that good)

Brian, Kevin says thanks very much!

He sure worked hard on that car. But he's definitely having a lot of fun driving it now that it's put together!

Funny story....he had a riced out Mitsubishi playing with him one morning. The other guy got a lucky break, and managed to get in front of Kevin, and was going all out, hell bent for leather. Kevin's just cruising along behind him, barely touching the top of his gas pedal, right on his *** and popping the gas off and on just a little so that FrankenShark was jumping up and down in the guy's rearview. Just giving the guy a little hint.

Kevin's car was just having a lovely stroll in the park. But the other guy had his foot mashed to the floor, and Kevin could hear the motor just screaming, and then all of a sudden smoke starts pouring out from under the other guy's hood, and he had to pull over.

Kevin said when he went by him, he could see the guy's mouth hanging open just staring as Kevin hit the go pedal and screamed away. Too funny!

(All on a closed course, of course. )

I would love to take mine to work every so often, but the traffic in Manhattan is so bad, it drives me nuts. I'd rather take my chances with the Mazda, dodging all of the gypsy cabs, crackheads and run of the mill buttheads that drive here in Harlem. (At least the a/c works in the Mazda)

Are you guys coming up to Ct. for the coffee run that Dave Lloyd is getting together for May 17?

Kevin, how thirsty is your shark? Mine only gets 17 MPG. If I drive it every day it will get pricey. Wait, all you guy got are 928 so I guess you have no choice.

Hey James, Kevin's putting a $20 into the tank every day, which tops him off daily after his 150-160 mile round-trip. Gas is running about $2.20 a gallon right now in this area. So that makes it........(*fumbling with numbers* -- add the 2, carry the 8....multiply....)......I have no idea!

That's right, no choice but to drive a 928, and wouldn't have it any other way!

Hey Brian....I'm having trouble finding the drive thread you mentioned. Could you throw me a link, pretty please? I think we might actually be able to make it!

Yeah, we thought about doing that one too, James. We really wanted to go. But unfortunately we weren't able to pull two cars together in time to make it on such a far trip (only Kevin's is reliable enough for that right now).

The kids are too big to take in one car these days for such a long ride, as my daughter, who sits behind Kevin, has no place to put her feet and has to sit with her legs folded under her.

*sigh*

Maybe the next one!

Brian, just found your email. Thanks!!

I don't check that address often enough anymore.

Anyway, it's actually looking highly likely that we will be able to make that drive this Sunday, so I do hope you will be there too! Thanks for the heads' up!!
