Default 86.5 help needed

As my recently aquired 86.5 is so completely unmodified and intact I have decided to do a "sympathetic restoration" just cleaning, replacing and refurbishing but keeping her "as she was built"

(x pipe, rmb, ken chip and tensioner not withstanding! with originals saved for future generational reconversion if needed)

At some point one of the PO's (not the one I aquired her from) removed the rear 928S decal. (Outline visible no model delete listed so I know it was there from new)

On Garnet Red Metallic should it be light or dark Grey.....I have spent hours looking for a rear shot on you tube of the promo vids to no avail.

I think the darker color is aesthetically more pleasing but if anyone knows the "official" choice please chime in.

Thanks

what color is the interior?
Does the car have a pin stripe??
Are you going to get new wheels that are Zermatt silver??. I think that you should take all of this into consideration, possibly going with a wheels matching color

I just took a pic of the back of my 86.5 Garnett Red. It looks silver to me.. By the way, mine came with the more goldish colored wheels.

Interior code is L88 which is a Tan seats/carpet with dark reddish brown dash/console/headliner.

Pinstripe (gold) was applied at dealership for original owner it has really grown on me.....

Wheels are Platinum Metallic original to car.

My 84 had the exact same color combos, and the original decal - it was dark gray.

Thanks for the compliments! (She has found her permanent home here)

Looks Like they used whichever color was at hand!

Was the P O R S C H E lettering in light or dark an option too?

Not sure if the Porsche lettering was an option, it's at least not listed on the option list, but that probably wouldn't list it. Mine seems to be identical to yours, tan and brown interior, it's an all original time capsule. I plan to do the same things, I've done Porken chip, RMB, Ott X-Pipe, and plan to do Porkens tensioner, also plan to go electric fan now that I have the X-Pipe and smog pump disconnected. But am also saving all the parts.
