Kumho makes a 265/45/16 Fitment Questions
That's about 3/8s of an inch larger radius than a 245/45 size, or about 2MPH slow on the speedo at 60 MPH.
I am tempted to run these on the back of my 85, on the GT wheels, but they don't make a 245 for the front, only a 225/50.
Whaddya think ? Could I run 4 9'' rims with these tires on all four wheels, or should I run 225s on the front 8'' rims ? It would be quite a stretch to run these on an 8 I think ?

I'm thrilled to hear they're finally making a performance tire in 265 45 16, long overdue and the perfect size for the 9" rim. It might even be enough for me to break out the Club Sport rims which I've been thinking of selling and instead put them back on the GT. I've always felt the 245 45 16 was too small for the 928, especially as power increased over the years. They look too tiny in diameter for the size of the rear wheel well and they're definately too narrow for the rear end. Ideally, they'd make a 235 50 16 to fit the 8" front but 225 will have to do since I don't think anyone makes a tire in that size. I don't think you should run a 265 on an 8" rim, you won't like the handling.

No, 265 on an 8 doesn't sound right. I guess the question is, if I had a set of four 9 inch rims, could I run 265s all around ?

Check Kuhmo's site. You probably could run them on 8" wheels, but 9" is probably ideal. I discovered the other day that Hoosier makes/made 275 wide 16" tires. Running 265s on 16x9 wheels on all 4 corners would depend on the offset as usual.

dont worry about the speedo. at 305x 35 x18 on the rear, the speedo gets accurate. although I would like to think i was going 160mph at RA, i wasnt, it was more like 154 as the speedo was indicating before I hit the rev limiter!
I also checked this with a cop friend's radar gun check at 60mph. I think german cars generally tend to read higher speeds to keep us from getting tickets.

Blatant Plug, but I've got an essentially new set of Kumho's in size 245/50 X 16 for sale on eBay. Even the BIN price is cheap. No reserve, starting at $10!!!!

For a few years in the 80'sthe GM factory calibration was supposed to read 6-8mpg high at 55mph. Judging by the drivers I see going way to slow in the fast lane, Toyota/Lexus read 20mph over and BMW/Audi must read 20 mph under.
